Mounties participated at the Community Preparedness Workshop today at the La Plata County Fairgrounds during the Office of Emergency Management Fifth annual wildfire evacuation exercise event. This was a trade show style educational event. For more information:

If you noticed a lot of activity today along CR-205 north of Turtle Lake that was because La Plata County Search & Rescue and La Plata County Mounted Patrol were searching for a missing local elderly man, 5’7”, 140 lbs, grey hair who suffers from early dementia, glaucoma and poor balance. He may be wearing a royal blue polar fleece and beanie. If you saw him or know of his whereabouts, please call Dispatch @ (970) 385-2900. A CodeRED was given to local residents in that area. Only authorized officials have
access to send alerts using the CodeRED system.

Snow, overcast and some blue skies happening today at Purgatory Resort. Mark Andersen getting some quality father-daughter time with Lacey. Helped close a few gates at 3:30 then responded to the arrival court to assist with an upset guest. Great times here in Colorado!
