Just another day looking for smoke. We found a nice spot overlooking the valley around us. It’s been a loooong season with much more to come I do believe…

Once again I am reminded of just how small this fire community is! Over 500 hundred miles from home on assignment and ran into folks from my home forest. Treating everyone with respect on or off fire, strangers or co workers is so very important. You never know who you may see when least expecting it.

Integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is looking.
Good work ethics are doing the right thing even if it seems mundane and unnecessary.
Your career is in your own hands, it will be what YOU make it.
Stump busting is easy, mop up is easy, firefighting is easy.
Patrol and staging is NOT.
Patrol and staging is where a persons true colors are seen.
Everyday you wake up you get to decide who you are going to be today.
