Who's excited for this year's BBQ?! 🍔🌭🥗

Join us for a free community BBQ on July 17th to celebrate disability pride! Please be aware that this year, we will be gathering at a new location- the Durango VFW, which features a wonderful outdoor space at 1550 Main Ave.

We will be offering burgers, hot dogs, sides, and refreshing non-alcoholic drinks. We warmly invite you to join us for a relaxed and enjoyable time; sharing good food, good company, and celebrating together!

Are you looking for more than just a job? Would you like to make a lasting difference in your community and in the fight for basic human rights?

Southwest Center for Independence is now hiring an Independent Living Specialist (ILS-Gen) to assist individuals with disabilities in developing and implementing Independent Living Plans and provide services such as information and referral, advocacy, peer support, and skills training. Please see the the job description in the comments for a more detailed description of duties.

This position involves spending approximately 80% of work hours providing direct community-based services to individuals with disabilities and is primarily in-person, with some flexibility for remote work.

This position is a part-time, non-exempt position paying $22.11/hour and offers a variety of benefits including our generous holiday and PTO package and free EAP services.

Come meet the coaches, explore the equipment, and see how we build confidence through movement. Whether your player is brand‑new to sports or looking for a welcoming place to belong, we’re excited to open the doors and get them moving.
