Middle School Retreat Day 2: Students began the day with some Quiet Time with the Lord in Deuteronomy 6 and prayed with one another before starting on a 5k hike to see the Rock Eagle effigy mound. It was the perfect weather to be outdoors with friends- hiking, canoeing, and roasting marshmallows around a campfire. Dr. C led us in a night of worship and Scripture on choosing the right path. Praise be to the Lord for our wonderful teachers and parent volunteers.

Middle school students took the learning outdoors on their annual retreat this year. On day 1 of our stay at Rock Eagle, students learned about lake ecology, pioneer life, snakes, and even played some historic Native American games. We ended our night with our traditional ramen party! Students learned about the creativity and order of God in nature and made some sweet memories with these shared experiences.

Roman politics in action! 🏛️

In 6th grade history, students stepped into the roles of Roman Consuls and Senators to debate how to respond to a food shortage in the Republic. After hearing the Senate’s proposal, the Consuls approved a plan to ration food to help the people during the crisis.

Through role-playing and discussion, students explored how decisions were made in ancient Rome and how leaders worked together to solve real problems.

History comes alive when students step into it! 👍🏼
