The Dunwoody Preservation Trust presents History Alive: "Choosing Sides During the American Revolution: Would You Have Been a Loyalist or a Patriot?"

An award-winning historian specializing in early American history, the American Revolution, and the colonial South, Dr. Greg Brooking will explore the difficult choices Georgians faced on the eve of the Revolution and ask the question: “If you had lived in Georgia in 1775, which side would you have chosen? The answer may not be as obvious as it seems today.

🍋 Today is National Lemonade Day! And in Dunwoody, lemonade has a story of its own. 🍋

What began in 1999 as a way to help our community recover from the devastation of the 1998 tornado has grown into Lemonade Days—one of Dunwoody’s most beloved traditions. For more than 25 years, families and friends have gathered for carnival rides, great food, music, fun—and, of course, lemonade.

But Lemonade Days has always been about more than a festival. It helps make our preservation work possible. Proceeds support the Dunwoody Preservation Trust’s mission to preserve Dunwoody’s historic places and stories, educate our community and connect people with the history that makes this place special. So today, we’re raising a glass to a simple idea that turned into something much bigger:

🍋 When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.

And in Dunwoody, make it a tradition.

Create Dunwoody recently launched the America 250 Community Puzzle Project, a citywide initiative placing custom 500-piece puzzles at local businesses and gathering spaces to bring residents together during the nation’s 250th anniversary celebration.

We were the proud recipients of a puzzle and presented it at our recent Donaldson-Bannister Farm Star-Spangled July 3rd Open House. Atendee Megan Guo graciously offered to take the puzzle home to complete and has the border in place. Stay tuned for more updates on our Puzzle Put Together Project!
