She's mom to Connor and Elijah, and brings a deep passion for supporting other mothers in recovery to this new role.

Meet Madisyn Guzman, one of our new Kids Ministry Assistants! 👋

A graduate of Murray State University in Elementary Education, Madisyn has previously taught our 1st Grade Class at North Atlanta and also served with North Atlanta Preschool.

She and her husband AJ are thrilled to be raising their family here and serving alongside our church family with North Atlanta Kids.

Meet Sharon Thomas, one of our new Kids Ministry Assistants! 👋

A member of North Atlanta since 2010, Sharon spent 10 years as a special education teacher in Gwinnett County before homeschooling her own kids, Will and James.

You've probably already seen her teaching our 2-Year-Old Class or leading the Love First Boutique with our Recovery Ministry.

The Sin of Cain: Grace Was Never Too Small for Two 🕊️

Why didn't Cain just bring another sacrifice? 🤔

God never slammed the door. He didn't say "You've lost your chance." He said: "If you do what is right, will you not be accepted?" — Genesis 4:7

The invitation stayed open. So why the resort to violence?

🚪 The Door Swings Both Ways

Sin was "crouching at the door" (Genesis 4:7) — but so was grace. Cain stood at the same open door and saw only closure. 💔

He decided Abel's acceptance was his own demotion. A blessing on his brother felt like a verdict against him. Grace became finite. Love became a competition. 🔥

🧠 The Murder Began in the Imagination

Cain killed his brother long before the field — the moment he believed there wasn't enough grace to go around. 😞

💡 The Twist

Then God marks Cain to protect him (Genesis 4:15). The murderer is kept alive. The abundance Cain couldn't imagine was large enough to cover even this. 🙌

The lie was never "there isn't enough for you." It was "there isn't enough for both of you."

🪞 And That Lie Still Whispers Today

Every resentment that curdles when someone else gets blessed starts in that same hallway. But grace doesn't run out. There's room for your brother and for you. 💛
