The Dunn Area Rotary Club is the premier civic club in the Dunn area after a merger of the Dunn and Dunn-Erwin clubs effective July 1, 2025. Come and join us!

Together for more opportunities for our members and more impact on our community and beyond. Our club meets at Western Sizzlin Steakhouse in Dunn, the first and third Wednesday of each month at 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m.

Fantastic meeting this week! We had a packed agenda full of community updates and inspiring guest speakers. Here are the highlights:
🎗️ Supporting Lung Cancer Awareness
We were honored to host Macy McFarland, MPH, CHES, and Molly Heym, MPH, from the Lung Cancer Initiative. They shared the incredible impact their non-profit has on providing survivor support and raising awareness for lifesaving screenings. A special thank you to our own lung cancer survivor, Joy Henderson, for inviting them!
🌳 Investing in Our Parks
Parks & Recreation Director Brian McNeil updated us on the Codrington Park grant application. Our club is proud to offer our overwhelming support for this project to enhance our local community spaces!
⛳ Record-Breaking Golf Tournament!
Rotarian Trent Carpenter shared some amazing news—this year’s Golf Tournament was the most successful to date! 🏆 A massive THANK YOU to all of our incredible sponsors and teams who stepped up to make this achievement possible.
We love seeing our members and community come together to make a difference!

Thursday wrapped up a wonderful week of Rotary with our 38th Annual General William C. Lee Rotary Golf Tournament, held at Chicora Country Club! ⛳️

We had more than 20 teams come out to enjoy a beautiful Thursday on the course—with just a little bit of Carolina heat! ☀️

A very special thank-you to our tournament chairman, Trent Carpenter, for all his hard work and leadership, and to all of our generous sponsors who helped make this fundraiser such a tremendous success for our club. We couldn’t do it without you!

This week has been an awesome week for our club! 🌟

On Wednesday, we were honored to welcome District Governor Pat Gallagher to the Dunn Area Rotary Club. He shared the story of Rotary and an incredible story about how an American Rotarian and his family experienced firsthand the power of being part of an international Rotary family when they found themselves in need while in another country.

Governor Gallagher also challenged each of us to make a difference this Rotary year by Living Rotary, Giving to Rotary, and Telling Others About Rotary.

That is how we achieve our goal of “Creating Lasting Impact”—by “Rolling Up Our Sleeves” and putting Rotary into action in our communities and around the world. ❤️💙

We were also excited to begin the presentation with District Governor Gallagher presenting our club with a membership award! What a wonderful recognition of the hard work and commitment of our members.

We are proud to be Dunn Area Rotary, and we’re looking forward to continuing to serve, grow, and make a lasting impact together! 🌎🤝

It is such an honor for the Dunn Area Rotary Club to be a part of the First Responders Luncheon each year. ❤️💙

We are incredibly grateful to our sponsor, Bleecker Chevrolet, for helping make this special event possible. We also want to thank all of our Rotarians who showed up and helped make this year’s luncheon a success.

A very special thank-you goes to our very own Rotarian Mark Johnson, who has played such an important role in organizing this First Responders Luncheon each year. Your dedication and commitment are truly appreciated!

Rotarions learned about helping children and adults when choking or in cardiac arrest by Amber Barrus and Rhianon Sinclair of the Dunn Emergency Services. Rotarian Matthew Smith is shown demonstrating chest compressions. We also heard from Rotarians Larry Snipes and Kim Stewart Hargrove during the Member Spotlight section of our meeting.

Special Thanks to the City of Dunn Chief of Police, Timothy “Lynn” Gay, for taking the time to visit and speak with our club at our last meeting. We appreciate all that our police officers do and all the sacrifices they make to serve the people of Dunn.

Our first Rotary meeting of the club year featured a short spotlight on two of our members, Joy Henderson and Luke West. We also have a new member to install hopefully at the next meeting. Lots of fun and exciting things happening at the Dunn Area Rotary Club. We would love to have you join us.

Happy Birthday America! We hope everyone enjoys their 4th of July! Our next meeting is Wednesday, July 15 at 12:00 noon at the Western Sizzlin in Dunn. We would love to have you join us as we kick off our new Rotary year!

What a wonderful celebration today at the Dunn Area Rotary Club Installation Luncheon!

Outgoing President Rob Jones was presented with the Past President's Award and received well-deserved applause for his outstanding leadership during the first year of the combined Dunn Rotary Club and Dunn-Erwin Rotary Club as The Dunn Area Club.

President Jesse Elmore was officially installed by Assistant District Governor Tia Coppus. We were also honored to welcome District Governor Lisa Higginbotham as our special guest.

Club officers were installed for the coming Rotary year. Pictured left to right are Treasurer Kim Hargrove, Past President Rob Jones, Public Relations Chair Tammy Williams, Secretary Larry Snipes, Sergeant-at-Arms Joy Henderson, and President Jesse Elmore. President-Elect Matthew Hayes was unable to attend due to a family vacation.

We look forward to another year of service, fellowship, and making a positive impact in our community. Congratulations to all of our officers and thank you to Rob Jones for a fantastic year of leadership! Rotary District 7710
