Just a friendly reminder, Harvey-Merriman American Legion Post 190 - Dunlap, TN will hold their monthly meeting this Tuesday, July 28 at 6:00 PM CDT in the auditorium of Veterans' Hall at 6808 TN-28 in Dunlap. This meeting will be followed by a potluck social. Feel free to bring a dish to share.

All active-duty and honorably discharged Veterans are welcome to participate.

Come on out and see us at the Sequatchie County Veterans booth in Harris Park during the 4th of July festivities tomorrow. We will be selling tickets for our annual "Leisure Time Give-Away" opportunity to win one of two great fi****ms. (You must be able to legally take possession of a firearm in the State of Tennessee to win.)

American Legion Post 190, the American Legion Riders, VFW Post 5772 Dunlap, TN, and its Auxiliary will be participating in the 4th of July parade with our Color Guard and a float that any Sequatchie County veteran can ride on. We will then be raising the flags at the opening events at Harris Park and performing the National Bell Ringing ceremony at 1350 CDT. Our posts will also be manning a booth in Harris Park throughout the day raising awareness of our organizations and what we are doing to support local veterans and their families. We hope to see many of you out and about celebrating the 250th birthday of our great country!

IMPORTANT MEMORIAL DAY ANNOUNCEMENT:

The Community Memorial Day Ceremony will be held at Veterans Hall due to rain and wet conditions.

The Ceremony will begin at 10:00 AM (CST) and the public is encouraged to attend.

Veterans Hall is located at 6808 Hwy 28 in Dunlap. Just south of Ewton's Funeral Home.

Project Gallantly Forward is proud to announce the 2026 Fishing with a Veteran Tournament November 7, 2026

This isn’t just a day on the water — it’s a chance to give Veterans space to breathe, connect, and heal alongside people who truly understand their journey. Last year’s inaugural tournament SOLD OUT with 25 teams and 26 Veterans, and the stories, camaraderie, and impact were unforgettable.

This year, we’re aiming even bigger. We expect to serve 35–50 Veterans, and we’re calling on our community to help make this event extraordinary.
