I cannot believe I have come 800 miles already… backpacking is not a comfortable thing. However, in doing something which keeps you uncomfortable for a while (around 6 months), you come to REALLY appreciate the littlest conveniences. A cold drink, a flushing toilet, running water, a hot meal, warm bed, shower… the list goes on.

I will be entering Shenandoah Park in a few days now & am do excited for these 4,000 foot elevation gain mountains, twice a day to cease for a time. My feet are constantly sore but I know my body well now & am making do. Thank you all for your continued support. Take a hike!

I would just like to express my sincerest gratitude towards everyone who has donated to support this incredible cause! As I climb the Appalachian Mountains, sweat beading down off my nose & ready to fold over in exhaustion, I remember my grandfather, my family and my friends as well as all of you beautiful people who have donated to The James Mosca Sr. Hike for Alzheimer's. Making it out of Georgia was my first huge goal and yesterday it happened. 1 State down 13 to go! Thank you to everyone who has continued to donate along the way! Every dollar makes a difference. Welp, this moment will forever live as one of the most important in my life. Jeff Deminski from New Jersey 101.5 announced my hike live on the air to my father who didn’t expect it. This was his reaction!
