Scottish American Society of Dunedin Scottish American Society of Dunedin The Scottish American Society was established in 1980.

We preserve and promote our Scottish heritage, and are committed to support the youth in Scottish programs in the Dunedin Middle and High School Pipe Bands, Scottish Highland Dancers, and students of our Genealogy program. Many of our more than 200 members hail from the British Isles adding their knowledge of the customs and traditions we all enjoy. Our Scottish Cultural Center was designated the

City of Dunedin's first Historic Landmark in 2019, and we are located in downtown Dunedin at 917 Louden Avenue. We are also the home of Celtic Concerts offering the best in Celtic Music and great Whisky tastings!

Boston Red Sox Officially Renamed "Boston Tartan Sox" After Scotland Fan Takeover

What began as a normal baseball game between the Boston Red Sox and the Texas Rangers, quickly descended into tartan fuelled euphoria as thousands of Scotland supporters descended upon Fenway Park.

Footage shows deafening renditions of Flower of Scotland, SuperJohn McGinn and many more Scottish favourites.

The atmosphere was so electric that officials were reportedly left with no choice but to make a permanent change.

In a statement released shortly after the game, club executives announced that going forward the team will officially be known as the Boston Tartan Sox, citing the Scottish fans for bringing "more noise, passion and questionable dancing in one evening than we've seen in 125 years."

The team is also said to be considering replacing the traditional uniform with the kilt, and playing with their taps aff.
