It is with great sadness that we need to let everyone know that Dave Russell, Marty’s husband passed away yesterday. Marty passed a year ago now. They lived on Baywood Drive S for many, many years. They had to move out of their house after the Helene flooding but John Savage has always kept in touch with them, and gave us the sad news today. 💝

I contacted the City of Dunedin earlier today seeking information about the FEMA Substantial Damage Inspections via voicemail. I received an email back that said, "The City of Dunedin is awaiting the final report from the consulting firm who did the inspections. Once the City of Dunedin receives and reviews the report, the Substantial Damage letters will be then sent out in a few weeks."

We were just alerted from a resident on Baywood Drive West that her mailbox was vandalized! Keep your eyes open. This vandal took gift cards from an envelope in her mailbox, and left the empty envelope behind. She has reported it to the Sheriff's department.

Please note that we are working on putting together a Neighborhood Resource Meeting to help us all navigate through do's & don'ts, can & can'ts, as it relates to repairing/rebuilding, etc. It will be lead by one of our own residents, Justin Kissner, and will be held in one of the City of Dunedin buildings. Several of your Baywood Shores neighbors lost their recycling and garbage receptacles in the last two storms. If you have a spare (as it is noted that some homes now have multiples of each), can you please share so we can redirect them to their rightful owner. Thank you!

Here is a question from a Baywood Shores resident - Has anyone in the neighborhood received any type of definitive word on what options are regarding rebuilding? We know the City inspectors have been out taking pictures the last couple of days, and indoor inspectors will be coming out next week to determine whether or not homes have sustained "substantial damage". Any response or insight on this would be greatly appreciated!
