For over fifty years DYG has actively supported many school and community activities and youth-related needs by providing assistance and funding to the youth of Dunedin. The Dunedin Youth Guild annually sponsors two events as a means of raising money for all our gift-giving activities. In the spring a Scholarship Fashion Show and Luncheon is held and in December, the Annual Holiday Tour of Homes.
Funds raised by these two events have sponsored 58 college scholarships to Dunedin students, 20 continuing college scholarships and 6 memorial college scholarships. The Guild has also donated $15,000 to the UPARC Children’s Physical Therapy Room, $10,000 to the Youth and Children’s Department of the Dunedin Public Library and $10,000 to the Children’s Wing of the Dunedin Fine Arts and Cultural Center. It annually donates funds to the elementary, middle and high school within Dunedin, sponsoring programs, bands, and Adopt-A-Classroom programs. The Dunedin Youth Guild funds children’s programs at the Dunedin Fine Arts and Cultural Center, Fisher Field, Science Center, Girl and Boy Scout programs, Dunedin NAture Center, DePaul School of Dyslexia, Summer Schools programs, After School programs, Hospice programs for children, Guardian Ad Litem, YMCA Autistic programs and computers to homebound students. These are only a few of the many projects to which the Guild had devoted their efforts and funds. The Guild needs sponsors to help cover costs of its two main fund raising projects every year. With your help the DYG will be able to increase the number and amounts of scholarships.
