Dunedin...

Patrick, bartender at Skip’s, had a heart attack last Friday. He is now home starting his rehab which is going to take some time. Time out of work.

If you feel so inclined to put some money into his tip jar, you’re giving it to a person that is a giving person.

Good Afternoon Dunedin and Happy Thursday!! The only way that I knew today was Thursday is because my Roomba got off it’s cradle at 10:00 this morning and swept the floors.

We all got a little money from the Federal Government this week and it’s needed by all. However, it would be kind for those that have the ability to pay some of it forward to do so. The Dunedin Service Industry makes our town fun. Without them there would be no bar or restaurant or music to listen to without them showing up to work. Since they can’t work, now is the time that they can use our help.

Pick one or two people from the list and drop a couple of bucks into their individual “tip jar”. All you need is to have a Venmo or PayPal or CashApp app on your phone.

Heather works at The Thirsty Falcon, sometimes at Happy’s Bayou Bites and sometimes at Skips. Heather is the best in that she’s fun to be around, works her tail off and no one can argue that she is one of the most caring people we know. Cheers to you Heather!! You are loved and missed. We can’t wait to see you again.

A side note, today is the one year anniversary of The Thirsty Falcon!! I know it’s painful to not be sitting at your bar toasting to your anniversary so today we will virtually toast to another awesome establishment in Dunedin.

I’ve included a new and updated list of people in our Dunedin service industry family that rely on tips as part of their income. This is our opportunity to give them “Just The Tip” portion of the service they would normally be providing. Because our service industry family is so awesome and giving to us this is our way to let them know how much they are appreciated and missed.

As you know, many are having problems getting their unemployment paperwork processed through the State. Now is the time that they could really use the help. Please sit down today, find a couple of names and throw a few bucks into their virtual tip jar.

Happy Good Friday Dunedin!! Thank you to all of those that continue to share with our Dunedin service industry family and to those that are having a difficult time, please know that we are all in this together. We miss you all and are looking forward to reconnecting.

I want to wish one of Dunedin’s best beer brewers Eunice Painter a special Happy Birthday today on her 50th birthday. Eunice is the magic behind all the beer at Woodwright Brewing. She doesn’t take tips but she sure will be glad to fill your growlers with her awesome Woodwright beer. Cheers Eunice!! We love you.

Happy Wednesday afternoon Dunedin!! Does it feel like Groundhog Day?

I want to let everyone that is taking care of each other during this time how much it means to the people we are helping. I’ve received notes from multiple people expressing how much this means to them. I’ve received messages from other communities asking how we are doing what we are doing and in return started their own “Just The Tip” program. I’ve been contacted as far away as Boulder, Colorado!

What we are doing for each other is providing hope. A hope that we will make it through this and that someday we can sit down next to each other and have a beer.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you because your response has been overwhelming. Today is April 1 which means that rent/mortgage payments are due. Please continue to show gratitude and throw a couple of bucks into someone’s tip jar.

Happy Tuesday Dunedin!! Is everyone out of their pajamas and enjoying this beautiful day while social distancing?

Thank you to everyone pulling together to check on each other and to continue to remember our Dunedin service industry family that is severely hurting at this time. Please, as you sit down and eat lunch, open a beer or listen to a good song, take a moment and throw a couple of bucks into someone tip jar.
