Who deserves to be recognized?

Across Maryland, extraordinary people are strengthening nonprofits, advancing philanthropy, mentoring others, building meaningful partnerships, inspiring generosity, and finding creative new ways to make a difference. AFP Maryland wants to celebrate them at our 2026 National Philanthropy Day celebrationand we need your help finding them.

Take a look at this year's award categories. Who immediately comes to mind? Don't assume someone else will nominate them. Be the person who makes sure their story gets told!

Who is creating space for more voices to be heard, more people to belong, and more communities to have a seat at the table?

AFP Maryland's Champion of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Award recognizes an individual, board member, volunteer, or community leader whose commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging is creating meaningful change through philanthropy and nonprofit service.

Think about the leaders you've watched turn values into action through programs, partnerships, policies, advocacy, or simply the way they lead.

Someone came to mind, didn't they? Nominate them!

🌧️ EVENT UPDATE: Black Philanthropy Month Happy Hour Postponed

Due to the inclement weather expected this evening, AFP Maryland has made the decision to postpone tonight’s Black Philanthropy Month Happy Hour at Sacré Sucré.

The safety of our members, guests, and community is our priority. We’ll announce a new date soon and will contact all currently registered attendees directly with additional details.

We’re disappointed we won’t be gathering tonight, but we look forward to celebrating Black Philanthropy Month together soon!
