Honor. Leadership. Adventure. At Troop 493 we believe in Xtreme Scouting, and our weekends are filled with high adventure fun.

Our Scouts have been to Philmont Scout Ranch four times, a high adventure backpacking trip to Colorado, a ski trip in New Mexico, canoe float trips on the Brazos River and San Marcos River, caving and rock climbing trips, and to numerous summer camps outside the state. We meet in the heart of Duncanville, Texas every Monday night and offer our Scouts and their families a fun and safe place to lear

n, plan and grow. The troop boasts 23 Eagle Scouts with several life scouts in various stages of projects and merit badges. We welcome all boys of scouting age and from every background. Our Scouts come from Duncanville, Cedar Hill, DeSoto, Red Oak, Waxahachie, Midlothian and Southwest Dallas. Our leaders are fully trained and background checked. We encourage co-ed leadership so our scouts benefit from all resources offered by our families. Come visit our scouting family and see if you’re up to the challenge!
