Last night, Station 50 was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with injuries on New 22. The driver ended up going through the guard wire, then coming to a rest along the outside guard rail. There was a large area of dirt, grass, and shell across the highway that crews worked on to get traffic moving again.

Under the leadership of President Michael Luther and Fire Chief Michael Boring, the Allegheny Township Volunteer Fire Department went through their ISO audit. An ISO audit for a fire company is an evaluation by the Insurance Services Office that grades a community's fire suppression and protection capabilities, resulting in a score from Class 1 (best) to Class 10 (unrated) used by insurance companies to set property insurance rates. For the past several years, our company has remained at a 6x. These two leaders wanted to change that, and with a lot of effort, dedication, and endless time, we were able to drop our ISO score down to a 5. It may not seem like much, but it really is. They plan on making improvements and pushing to drop that score even lower for our residents of Allegheny Township. A huge thank you to all our volunteer members for the time and effort they contribute to make this fire company run smoothly.
