our club had Micaela Halverson from the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture as our speaker today! She spoke about the Duncan Farm Hub and how to find farm fresh products near us! Very informative for those that love farm to table!

our club had Fredrick Cunningham from the Fort Sill National Cemetery as our speaker! He spoke on the history of the cemetery and how those who have served our great country are being honored there. It was a great reminder of the sacrifices made right after Memorial Day!

our club has had a busy week! Monday some of our Rotarians attended the Duncan Scholarship Awards Assembly where we were able to award 9 students with scholarships! We welcomed a new Rotarian to the group, Dallas Lassley, and our speaker today is the fabulous Duncan Public School Superintendent, Channa Byerly!

our club had Joe Dorman from the Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy as our speaker today. He spoke on the importance of advocacy and the history behind the Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy. They also provide the Mighty Mia & Dyna-Bit comic books to 5th graders across Oklahoma!

“Service Above Self” is our motto and our club lives by that daily!

We spy members of the Rotary Club of Duncan OK participating in the City of Duncan’s spring clean-up event in conjunction with Keep Oklahoma Beautiful. The group of dedicated volunteers picked up trash in five city parks, collecting an estimated 450 pounds of trash and debris. This effort not only helps provide safe and beautiful parks for our citizens and guests, but also showcases the “Service Above Self” that all Rotarians share!

our Students of the Month had the opportunity to ask our Grand Inquisitor questions but unfortunately he wasn’t able to make the meeting today…never fear though, our past presidents Craig and Jonathan stepped in! The students ended up winning this month against the Grand Inquisitor’s questions! Our program today was the Duncan High School Jazz Band! They did an amazing job and rocked our meeting in style!

our club had Kade McClure with Legal Aid of Oklahoma as our speaker! Legal Aid is a 501c3 non profit that helps those that cannot afford a lawyer have representation for their cases. We also welcomed a new member, Lloyd Newton from Arvest!

our speaker today was Mikayla Howell from The Safe Center! She spoke on all the services The Safe Center offers and how the community can help them keep providing those services! We also had one of our Students of the Month attending but lucky for him our Grand Inquisitor wasn’t there to test his knowledge.
