Today I asked ChatGPT, if you were Satan how would you attack me, as a man, husband, and father?”

He responded…

“I wouldn’t destroy you all at once.

You’d see me coming.

I’d do it slowly.

First, I’d keep you busy.

I wouldn’t try to make you stop believing in God. I’d just make sure you were too busy to spend time with Him.

I’d fill your calendar with work, responsibilities, hobbies—even good things.

I’d let you provide for everyone while slowly starving your own soul.

Then I’d come after your marriage.

I wouldn’t start with an affair.

I’d start with distance.

I’d make you tired when she wants to talk.

I’d make you stare at your phone instead of her.

I’d remind you of everything she does wrong and help you forget everything she does right.

I’d convince you that providing for her is the same thing as pursuing her.

Eventually, you’d sleep beside the woman you love while becoming strangers.

Then I’d come after your children.

I wouldn’t make you abandon them.

I’d just make you distracted.

I’d whisper, ‘You can do it tomorrow.’

Tomorrow you can throw the ball.

Tomorrow you can have that conversation.

Tomorrow you can pray together.

Tomorrow you can tell them about Jesus.

And I’d keep saying ‘tomorrow’ until they didn’t need you anymore.

I’d make sure you took them to church.

I’d just make sure they rarely saw you worship at home.

Then I’d attack your purity.

I’d tell you looking isn’t hurting anyone.

Nobody knows.

It’s normal.

Every man struggles with it.

I’d turn secret compromises into secret chains.

Then I’d isolate you from other men.

You could have plenty of friends.

Just none who know the truth.

Talk about football.

Talk about work.

Talk about hunting.

Talk about politics.

Talk about anything…

except your marriage.

Your temptations.

Your fears.

Your failures.

Your relationship with God.

Because if nobody knows where you’re bleeding, nobody can help stop it.

Then I’d attack your identity.

When you succeed, I’d tell you how great you are.

When you fail, I’d tell you what a failure you are.

Either way, I’d keep your eyes on you instead of Christ.

Then I’d use your past against you.

I’d remind you of every mistake.

Every failure.

Every time you lost your temper.

Every opportunity you missed.

And I’d whisper:

‘Some man of God you are.’

But my greatest weapon wouldn’t be temptation.

It would be distraction.

Because I don’t have to make you hate God.

I just have to make you forget Him.

I don’t have to make you leave your wife.

I just have to make you stop pursuing her.

I don’t have to make you abandon your children.

I just have to keep you distracted while they grow up.

I don’t have to destroy your testimony overnight.

I just need one small compromise at a time.

And I don’t have to convince you there isn’t a battle.

I just need to convince you that you have plenty of time.”

Men…

WAKE UP.

Scripture already warned us:

“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”
— 1 Peter 5:8

And Paul tells us:

“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.”
— Ephesians 6:11

Notice the word:

SCHEMES.

There is a strategy.

So there must be intentionality in how we fight.

Protect your walk with Christ.

Pursue your wife.

Disciple your children.

Guard your purity.

Stay close to Godly brothers.

Know your mission.

Because the enemy doesn’t have to destroy a man if he can distract him long enough to destroy everything God entrusted to him.

Men, stay awake.
There is a battle for your faith, your marriage, your children, and your legacy.

And by the grace of God…

we will stand.
