Judges Spotlight!!

Weston McElroy
Weston is from Bryan, Texas. Growing up he was very involved in both 4-H and FFA and exhibited market and breeding lambs and market goats at Texas majors and multiple national livestock shows. He has completed numerous internships with sheep and goat breeders across the U.S. and has served as sheep and goat showmanship counselor for a national camp series. He attended Blinn College for two years where he was a member of the Livestock Judging Team. Weston graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelors degree in Animal Science and was a member of the 2024 Texas A&M Collegiate Livestock Judging Team. Weston is currently working on a Masters Degree in Animal Science with a focus on small ruminant stress and welfare and will be one of the assistant coaches for the Texas A&M Collegiate Livestock Judging Team.

Judge Spotlight!! We can’t wait to welcome Mr.Terry Burks in a couple of weeks so mark your calendars.
Biography
Terry is a retired Professor of English Studies from Chifeng University in The People’s Republic of China. Prior to that, he was employed by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture in the Division of Show and Fair Promotion where he served as the educational coordinator and worked as a federal livestock grader. Terry was also the owner of Dynasty Club Lambs & Meat Goats.
Terry has judged nearly 1300 Junior and open livestock shows in 43 states. Some of his shows include all the Texas majors, The North American International, The American Royal, The National Western, The Great Western, The Cow Palace, The Dixie National, The Oklahoma Youth Expo, The Arizona National, Aksarben, The Big E, The All American Angus Breeders Futurity, The JABGA National Show and numerous National and Jr. National beef cattle shows.
Terry is a certified judge with the American Boer Goat Association and the American Dorper Sheep Association as well as being an approved judge with numerous beef cattle and sheep associations.
Terry has served on numerous judging committees across the US including the National 4-H, Jr. College and Sr. College Contests at the NAILE, as well as serving as the sheep/chairman for the National FFA Livestock Judging CDE.
Terry and his wife Alice live in Scottsville, Kentucky.
