Hello everyone! Just a reminder that the TPWA monthly meeting is happening tomorrow evening at the Proctor VFW Club, starting at 7pm. The exciting Summer Slam Tournament is this coming Saturday at Island Lake. We'll be heading out from Abbott Landing, with the fun running from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm Feel free to use your cell phone for capturing pictures! Afterwards, results will be shared at the Island Lake Inn.
Over the past year, the TPWA has introduced some great changes, especially to our website and registration process. We're thrilled that our club continues to grow, and this year, we’ve seen an increase in memberships. We’re eager to keep this momentum going! To do that, we’d love to hear more from you, since attendance at our monthly meetings has been a bit low. Some of the ideas we've been discussing include:
- Expanding the tournament field for the Berg Cup and Shootout.
- Using apps like Fish Donkey or Fishing Chaos for pictures and possibly registration.
- Considering formats like FFS versus traditional.
- Seeking new sponsorship opportunities.
- Holding monthly meetings over Zoom or Teams for more convenience.
- Bringing back guest speakers during the winter months.
These are just a few exciting topics on our minds.
To help the TPWA grow even more, we're looking for new board members. Stepping into these roles means we’ll be asking for more help across all areas of the club, including marketing, media, and tournaments. Our goal is to have more members taking on smaller tasks, which means more hands making lighter work—and plenty of opportunities for everyone to get involved and try out different roles. This support is crucial for our future, especially as some of us are planning to step back a little in the coming months. We look forward to building an even stronger, more vibrant TPWA with your help!
