𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐬! Positive Impact Health Centers has named Emily Blaiklock, PharmD, CSP, AAHIVP, as Chief Pharmacy Officer, recognizing Blaiklock’s leadership in strengthening pharmacy services as a central part of PIHC’s HIV care and prevention model.
Blaiklock has served Positive Impact Health Centers for nearly eight years, beginning as Pharmacist in Charge of PIHC’s Decatur Pharmacy in 2018. Since then, Blaiklock has served as Director of Pharmacy and Vice President of Pharmacy, helping lead the strategic, operational, financial, and compliance functions of PIHC’s pharmacy services and 340B program.
As Chief Pharmacy Officer, Blaiklock will continue overseeing pharmacy operations, financial performance, regulatory readiness, patient safety, contract pharmacy strategy, team development, revenue optimization, 340B compliance, and long-term planning. The role will also focus on further integrating pharmacy services across PIHC’s HIV care and prevention programs.
“Emily has helped build pharmacy services into one of the most important parts of our care model,” said Joey Helton, CEO-Elect of Positive Impact Health Centers. “Emily understands the clinical, operational, and financial sides of pharmacy, but even more importantly, Emily understands what this work means for patients. As Chief Pharmacy Officer, Emily will help PIHC continue expanding access, strengthening compliance, and supporting the long-term sustainability of the services our patients rely on.”
PIHC’s pharmacy services are fully integrated into the organization’s broader model of care. The pharmacies do more than dispense medications. They help patients navigate access barriers, support adherence, coordinate with care teams, and stay engaged in treatment. This approach helps identify medication issues earlier, improve care coordination, and support stronger long-term health outcomes for people living with or impacted by HIV.
“I am honored to step into the role of Chief Pharmacy Officer and continue serving PIHC’s patients through pharmacy services that are grounded in access, quality, and compassion,” Blaiklock said. “Our pharmacies play a critical role in supporting HIV prevention, treatment, adherence, and retention in care, and I remain deeply committed to advancing services that meet patients where they are. My vision is to continue building pharmacy programs that strengthen patient outcomes, support integrated care, and contribute to the long-term sustainability of PIHC’s mission.”
During Blaiklock’s tenure as Vice President of Pharmacy, PIHC strengthened pharmacy services as both a patient-centered care model and a strategic organizational asset. This work included expanding medication access, supporting adherence and retention in care, improving compliance infrastructure, and aligning pharmacy strategy with PIHC’s mission to provide high-quality HIV prevention, care, and treatment services.
Over the next year, Blaiklock’s priorities include strengthening pharmacy operations, advancing 340B compliance and program integrity, expanding pharmacy services that directly support patient access and outcomes, and ensuring pharmacy remains a connected part of each patient’s overall care team.
“Pharmacy is not just a dispensing function,” Blaiklock said. “It is a critical part of how we support HIV prevention, treatment, adherence, retention in care, mental health improvements, and long-term patient outcomes.”
