This Saturday, 9/6, the Lake Superior Steelhead Association is proud to host our 11th annual Spey Day! The event takes place at McNeil’s cabin on the Brule starting at 11am and features a ton of great presentations from a stellar cast of folks from our backyard and beyond! As always, lunch is provided by the LSSA. This is a great opportunity to learn more about spey/skagit casting as well as for those that may have interest and may be looking to give it a shot! This year, we have a stellar line up! We have Dave Gellatly who will talk about some new line systems cooked up that will be great for Midwest steelhead rivers, Dave Norling talking about their truly impressive bamboo rods and how to cast/fish them, Pantzloff talking about Speyco reels, Matt Jordan and Mikel Pitan talking about strategy to fish the river under varying conditions, as well as a presentation from Paul Sandstrom, and, finally, we are incredibly excited to have a tying element brought back in courtesy of Mitch Albers who ties some really beautiful steelhead flies! Also be sure to bring gear if you have it, and even if you don’t, presenters will be there to help after the event with any questions or lessons you may want! Look forward to seeing you all there!
