🇺🇸 Happy 4th of July from SHP! 🇺🇸

Tonight 🎆 as fireworks light up the sky 🎆 we celebrate freedom, community, and the belief that every child deserves a safe, comfy place to rest their head.

This year, that celebration means even more. As part of our nation's 250th birthday, we've launched 250 for 250: our campaign to build and deliver 1,000 beds for kids sleeping on the floor. Because the American Dream starts with a good night's sleep.

The Duluth Chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace has beds! We have beds to deliver to a home for children who have no bed.

A BIG thank you to the volunteers from Hermantown, Cloquet, and Superior Walmart! They were a mighty force working together to build 20 beds for children who have no beds.

You can help too!

Every bed is delivered and assembled, and includes a pillow, sheets, handmade quilt, and happiness.

A bed build has many steps. After cutting, sanding, and assembly of components is staining!

Bed parts are lowered into a dip tank of stain, staining the whole piece at once.

Thank you @ A.G. O’Brien for constructing and donating the dip tanks and for the volunteers who make it all possible!

Every child deserves a bed. Every bed needs a pillow. The beds we deliver to children in Duluth who need a bed all come with a mattress, sheets, quilt, and a PILLOW.

We need your help, we are in need of more pillows.

A place to rest a head after a busy day-YOU can make that happen for a child in Duluth! 6 beds will be delivered this week to children who have no bed, but we a low on pillows!

Great news! Now that we are building beds, the logistics of transporting lumber to the build site and the finished bed parts back to the warehouse has been challenging. A big THANK YOU to the Ordean Foundation for making the purchase of the trailer a possibility, and to Duluth Sign, SOTA for generously wrapping the trailer.
