A former Hill City police officer is accused of using his position of authority to r**e a 17-year-old girl last year, charging documents show. 35 YO Jordan Zempel allegedly used his gun, badge, uniform and power to sexually assault a 17 YO. The victim reported that Zempel talked about , “he had friends in the police department and that you can’t say no to him.” Wow.

The people of Superior are tired of fear, silence, and unanswered questions.

In less than 5 months, our community has witnessed multiple police shootings, and people are demanding accountability. We are coming together to stand up against unnecessary violence, abuse of power, and the way some members of the Superior Police Department treat members of this community.

Badges should never protect misconduct, excessive force, or deadly actions without accountability.

The shooting of Dave Menton has left this community heartbroken and angry. Many people have serious concerns about changing stories, missing footage, deleted evidence allegations, and why the officer involved remains on paid leave while the investigation continues.

We refuse to stay silent.

Holding Power Accountable in THE NORTHLAND has taken a gigantic step forward.
At the Center for Judicial & Police Reform and Accountability / CJPRA, we are dedicated to uncovering the truth behind judicial and law enforcement corruption. As of May 2026 we are 100 people strong. We have installed 25 justice ministers, with 12 more in training and we are vetting 16 more.

Our volunteer network is now over 50 individuals with a waitlist of many more. With backgrounds in law enforcement, judiciary, legal representation, military, social services, corrections, multimedia journalism, and health care along with numerous brutalized citizens that were shot, beat and/or sexually assaulted or r**ed by officers of the law, with the Duluth Police Dept., St Louis County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota State Patrol.

Many have experienced what no person should have ever lived through, now they’re going to help administer the people’s justice.

MPD and the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office are complicit. They were quiet about what ICE was doing, and eventually started outwardly protecting them and taking over their campaign of violence against observers and protestors.

Police logs say an ICE agent was “trapped in his car” and pelted with snowballs. Police also logged numerous calls about ICE agents patrolling schools and allegedly “harassing children.”

DULUTH, Minn. – Former Duluth Police Lieutenant David Drozdowski has filed a 43-page lawsuit against the city of Duluth.

His lawsuit claims, “After Mike Ceynowa was named Police Chief and Mayor Roger Reinert was elected to lead the City of Duluth, Lt. Drozdowski saw a shift in the department’s culture and officer misconduct. He became aware of an increase in troubling behavior, including blatant discrimination, missing use-of-force records, apparent data manipulation, and other wrongdoing.”
