Hello everyone! We want to share these really cool rice harvesting opportunities with our friends at Adaptive Wilderness Within Reach / North of North. The harvesting will be accessible for folks with physical disabilities via their adaptive kayaks. If you're interested, give them a holler soon! Please also share with others who might be interested!

What can one day make possible? In 2025, Northland Adaptive Recreation served 190 unduplicated participants through 361 participant lessons and 168 adaptive recreation outings.

That can look like a first trip down a ski hill, a kayak moving across Lake Superior, a bike ride made possible by adaptive equipment or a new friendship formed through sport.

The Northland Clays Classic raises more than one-third of the program budget behind those experiences. Help us protect and expand them: register a team, volunteer or become a sponsor.

Online registration is open for the Northland Clays Classic. We have room for at least 15 more teams—and the reason is bigger than one day on the course.

The Northland Clays Classic raises more than one-third of Northland Adaptive Recreation's annual programming budget. Those funds help people with disabilities ski, kayak, cycle, climb, swim, golf and discover what they can do.

Gather five people and join us Saturday, September 12, at Old Vermilion Trail Hunting Preserve. Team registration is $700 and includes lunch and dinner.

✨Intern highlight✨

Yesterday was National Intern Day so we thought we’d introduce our summer Intern Erika Harrison! She was first introduced to the organization when she volunteered at Northland Clays Classic last fall. She is an upcoming senior at University of Minnesota Duluth majoring in Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences and after graduation this spring will pursue physical therapy school. She has assisted with the kayaking, cycling, and yoga programs this summer as well as other events alongside the NAR staff. Outside of school and work, Erika can be found exploring mountain bike trails with her sisters and family, listening to music or spinning vinyl, hiking by Lake Superior, and spending lots of time in the north woods wherever she can!

She’ll be around a couple more weeks before she heads back to school, wish her luck!
