Due to a lack of RSVPs we had to cancel the potluck for today. Please check out our next events and sign up EARLY! We are doing draft horses and a wagon ride with a other nonprofit on October 11th!

Also, we have experienced a significant number of no-shows this year, so please plan ahead for travel time and scheduling and tell us if you can't make it! Limited spaces can always go to someone wait listed! 🧡🌱

We had SO much fun kayaking during our July event for OUT & ACTIVE! 🌊🌞 After days of heat it was the perfect way to cool off. Participants learned basic skills, paddle technique, and about equipment. They also enjoyed demos on more advanced techniques. We got lots of practice performing "wet exits" by rolling our kayaks and emerging underwater and performing rescues. The water felt AMAZING, it was a dreamy day of paddling. Thank you again to Blake Cazier of Positive Energy Outdoors who was our expert guide for this event!

Today is bucket scrubbing day for the sled dogs. All our dogs have large stainless steel milking pails so they always have access to fresh clean water. Repurposed tires keep the pails from tipping over.

Book a kennel tour with us to learn about what it takes to care for a kennel of 24 dogs, what sled dogs do in the summer, and how we get ready to run races.

We had a great time out on Fredenberg Lake yesterday for OUT & ACTIVE! The weather started grey and overcast and turned into a beautiful sunny day. We took out the 26' canoe and learned about Voyageurs as well as lake ecology and affects of humans on these habitats.

Participants were surprised to learn we have freshwater clams! We visited the loon island, beaver lodge, and saw various wildlife including loons, turtles, kingfisher, eagle, fish, etc.

We are so happy to bring these events to the community for free! Stay tuned for our next flier, we have another paddle event in July!

Thanks again to Blake at Positive Energy Outdoors for being our expert guide for this event!
