Great news riders! The new Jay Cooke off-road parking area is now open, and the trail connector to Greely Trail is complete!

To find you way:
• Enter at fire #320
• Follow the mowed trail and orange flagging from the parking area to the Greely Trail
•Temporary orange signs are posted at both the parking entrance and the trail connection

The bugs aren’t bad right now! This is a great time to get out and enjoy the trails.

A fun trail ride opportunity from one of our members, Tina Smith!

Hello everyone. We are planning a ride and inviting everyone to join. I am able to pick up 3-4 other horses in the Proctor/Duluth/Cloquet/Carlton area and transport.

Details:
- Saturday, May 16th
- 48740 110th place Tamarack MN
- Arrive by 11 am, ride begins at 12pm (noon)
- About 4 hour long ride
- A potluck gathering afterwards, (bring your own beverages and chairs)
- Please respond with food you’re bringing or bring your own for your own.

Please reach out to me or Heather Bushnell to sign up as well as commenting on this post.

Liability waivers will be required before the beginning of the ride.

What trails have you been riding this spring? We’ve been hearing great reports about trail conditions at Boulder Lake in Duluth and Wild River in Center City. It sounds like riders are finally getting out and enjoying some beautiful spring miles!

Where have you been riding lately? Share your trails reports, conditions, photos, and favorite spots with the group. Let’s help everyone find some great places to ride this season!

Registration is now open for the Duluth Back Country Horsemen - MN Rendezvous!

Join us for a weekend or a day ride at the Bird Sanctuary on June 5-7, 2026.

Enjoy easygoing trails, relaxed riding at your own pace or with a group, and a laid-back weekend with fellow riders. This rustic, back-to-basics camp is perfect for unplugging and spending time in the saddle.

Space is limited to 15 camping rigs with paddocks and tie stalls for the horses. Click on the link below for details and to reserve your spot.

Our next meeting is coming up on Tuesday, May 5th at the Buffalo House starting at 6 PM (upstairs meeting room). Come a little early to catch up with fellow horse trail riders, swap stories from the trail, and enjoy some good conversation before the meeting begins.
