Parks & Recreation is developing a plan for the Park Point Recreation Area. Your input will help guide future development of this special place!

These feedback opportunities will help us assess the current needs at the Rec Area and better understand the community’s vision. Tell us what you’d like to see happen within the park.

A few updates for you all:
Great Lakes Outdoor Summit | The Summit is in two weeks! Join us October 24-26 for a great lineup of events, presenters, and field trips. Registration will close 10/18 at noon, so get your tickets NOW - register here. We have folks coming from all over the Great Lakes region and it'll be fun to see what partnerships and new projects come from the gathering. Check out the schedule here.
HELP PROMOTE: as a relatively new conference, we rely on others to help us spread the word. Please give one (maybe even two 🙃) final promo push(s) to your networks - social media, add to your newsletter, send a personal email. Graphic attached and language available on our press kit.
Volunteer: We are looking for 5-7 more volunteers to help with various tasks throughout the day. Please email back if you are interested in helping out; general set-up, time keeping/greeting for sessions, registration, etc.
Dirtbag Diaries Podcast | The original outdoor podcast is coming to town during the Summit, sponsored by Minnesota Land Trust. Join us Thursday, October 25 from 5-8 p.m. at the West Theatre. More details here. $20 in advance, $25 at the door. We anticipate selling out, so get your tickets early.
Give to the Max | Mark your calendar - Join DAOA at the annual Great Outdoors Party - Give to the Max event at Bent Paddle on Thursday, November 21st at 6 p.m. Come kick off the giving season and connect with the outdoor recreation community. Tabling is limited, sign up here.

I am leading the trail work day beginning at 10 am on July 28 up in Isabella. We plan to focus on brushing around Flathorn Lake.

Thanks to everyone for your rhubarb donations! I took four very full shopping carts of rhubarb to be made into pies today! Super One is cleaned out and is no longer accepting rhubarb.
If you still have stalks to donate, please take them to First Lutheran. Thanks!

Hi folks!
It's that last push to collect rhubarb! You may bring your stalks to First Lutheran Church any day between 10 and 1 p.m., M-F.

If you need to deliver outside those hours, the West Duluth Super One Produce department is taking it until this weekend! We're closing that down on Sunday, June 23.

If you have a patch that needs picking, let me know!

As of today, May 29, you are invited to take your rhubarb to the West Duluth Super One. The produce department cooler is in the back right-hand corner of the store.

Please remember, no leaves and stalks must be whole.

All Minnesota state parks and state recreation areas will offer free admission to everyone. It’s a great opportunity to get outside and explore someplace new.

Hey, did you know that the Commission of Disabilities has been taking the lead on snow removal in the city of Duluth?

By bringing together community voices and our civic leaders, our goal is to take this foundational core city service and make it actionable. We have this great booklet and one sheet (not seen here) that explains what we can do to make Duluth welcoming for all! Snow removal matters, and I appreciate you doing your part.
