We believe in prioritizing recovery over housing. While housing is crucial, sustaining, maintaining, and thriving require a sober mind. God’s restoration is available to all, and we feel blessed to support those who make the intentional choice to follow His direction. We have seen ashes turned to beauty, and restoration that lights the room. God will never fail those who hope on Him.

We will begin our new series, THE GOSPEL ON THE GROUND with Kristy Mclelland, Tuesday May 11th at 10 a.m.
About the 7 series study:
For the vast majority of His life, Jesus never traveled outside of a one-hundred-mile radius from where He was born, but today His name is spoken in every corner of the earth. The Gospel on the Ground is the story of how Jesus's message of hope and reconciliation began to spread from Jerusalem and how it's still spreading like wildfire today.
We meet at 2910 W. 3rd Street.
Light snacks and beverages available.

It is National Volunteer Week!

We know it is rare to operate a non profit without Volunteers. This week and actually all year long, we say thank you to God for bringing this amazing team of committed people to work alongside us! And not pictured here are the many men that come and help on Fridays, from MN. Adult and Teen Challenge! Our cup overflows!

A couple of weeks ago, a man we had helped many years ago stopped by for a visit. At first, I didn’t recognize him, but as he shared his story, it all came back, and I looked at him in awe. He had once been broken and destitute, wanting nothing more than to die. This time, he came to show us ā€œwhat we do for people.ā€ Of course, it’s God working through us, but hearing his testimony was so encouraging. Too often I hear negative comments about helping homeless or addicted people— you see, many view them with disdain, believing they aren’t worth the time or effort unless they’re already working on change. I’ve learned that most simply can’t work on change until that spark of hope appears, which can take years. That’s why, year after year, we keep pouring into them. I wish I could say everyone we’ve met over the past decade has chosen the Lord’s way, but that’s not true. Many have, but most have not—yet they are STILL ALIVE for the Lord to continue His pursuit, and that’s good news! If we had turned this man away during his darkest, messiest days, this visit might never have happened. Our promise is to always see others through the eyes of Jesus and love them as He would, no matter their struggles or inability to get it right. I believe this man was sent to remind us that among the hundreds we’ve poured into we are just a small part of God’s work in their lives and we must remain faithful and steadfast even without seeing change during our time with them. To you, who contributes through gifts and prayer, please know your support changes lives in countless ways. This man is one of many real-life examples of someone who once wished to die but given time, has been made new. Praise Jesus. And please, if you see someone on the street holding a sign or wandering aimlessly, looking dirty or lost, say a prayer for them.
