Two Harbors Terje Viken Lodge is having a free Scandinavian concert and dance event on April 25th. See the photo and post for more information. Sounds like fun time!

We are having an exciting event! Join us on Saturday April 25 from 7-9:30 for a concert and dance party at the Community Center. Come to dance or just listen to wonderful Scandinavian tunes featuring Ross Sutter and musicians from the American Swedish Institute. Then on Sunday April 26 there is a concert at Emmanuel Lutheran Church at 1 pm. All festivities are free and open to the public thanks in part to a grant from the Sons of Norway foundation.

Attend our April 12th Nortun Lodge gathering for a "Baked Potato Bar" and program about Cohousing. We meet at 1pm at Family of God Church 4097 Martin Rd Duluth. Presenter will be Lee Petersen, a retired physical sciences librarian from Brown University, has been a leading voice in bringing cohousing to the Northland since moving to Duluth in 2014. Cohousing is an intentionally designed community model that began in Denmark in the 70's. Join us and learn all about this collaborative Cohousing community, enjoy yummy food and connecting with our lodge members.

Join us on March 8th at 1:00 PM for the monthly gathering at Nortun Lodge!

We are excited to welcome Theresa Hornstein, who will present her fascinating program, “Natural Dyes from a Viking World.” Theresa is a biologist, fiber artist, and author who transforms invasive plant species into stunning natural material dyes. She also serves as a board member of Spirit of the Lake Community Arts.

Bring your favorite Minnesota potluck dish to share with the group! Donations are welcomed for those unable to provide a dish.

We look forward to gathering, learning, and sharing good food.

Presented by Jared Criozier (OBHS)

Jared will share fascinating stories and artifacts from the historic Norwegian settlement of “Martinson” on the south shore of Lake Superior.

Join Nortun Lodge on February 8 at 1:00 PM at Family of God Church, 4097 Martin Rd, Duluth, MN.

Our program will be presented by our newest member, Aase Nelson, “Memoirs of an Adventurous Life.” Aase will share stories from her life in Norway and her journey to America.

The Social Committee will be serving waffles with a variety of toppings. Come for the program, stay for the fellowship, and enjoy a sweet treat.

Join Nortun Lodge on January 11th at 1:00 PM at Family of God Church, 4097 Martin Rd, Duluth, MN, for desserts and coffee during our program presented by Teri Glembin. She will share her Norwegian family history and present her artistic talent of painting Dala horses, which she began during the pandemic. If you wish to add variety to our dessert selection please bring your favorite sweet treat to share.
