Week 10 at North Star was the perfect smiles-and-sunshine kind of week!

Our campers spent their days exploring the woods, building forts, splashing in the water, and challenging themselves on the rock wall. We got creative with nature painting, turning the beauty around us into our own works of art!

We also had an amazing time celebrating Family Night with our camp families! From games and activities to laughter and making memories together, it was the perfect way to celebrate summer.

And, of course, there was plenty of time to run, play, burn off some energy on the playground, and make new friends!

Another week full of sunshine, adventure, friendship, and big smiles at North Star Day Camp!

Harbor Highlands youth participated in music camp this week, where they learned how to play instruments and record their own music! We’ve also been doing lots of painting and loving the “Flying Things” theme that our 4-H programs have explored throughout the summer. From music to art, our youth continue to learn, create, and let their imaginations soar!

Week 10 of EWC Day Camp is coming to a close!

This week was animal week so not only did we build dinosaurs out of noodles… we also explored owl pellets! Campers loved exploring and learning about what owls eat and how they hunt. We also had Rugby come by again to teach our oldest campers which they always love.

It was another amazing week of crafts, learning new skills, and hanging out with friends.

What an incredible week at the Harbor Highlands Youth Program!

This week, we proudly celebrated inclusion, belonging, and the power of connection. We traveled to new places, welcomed special guests, made some furry friends, and watched our campers form meaningful friendships with youth from Camp Miller. Through shared adventures and plenty of laughter, our young people showed what inclusion looks like—inviting others in, celebrating differences, and making sure everyone had a place to belong.

We are so proud of the kindness, confidence, and leadership our campers demonstrated throughout the week! Harbor Highlands is more than a youth program—it is a community where every young person is seen, supported, and encouraged to be themselves. Weeks like this show the impact of creating safe, welcoming spaces where young people can connect, explore, and thrive together!

Help us make music camp accessible to our Harbor Highlands youth!

The Duluth Armory is raising the remaining funds needed to send all 10 kids signed up for next week’s Music Camp for free. The camp will explore music skill-building and show participants that everyone is capable of making music.

Learn more and help support the camp through the link in the Historic Duluth Armory’s post.

This week at EWC Day Camp we had a lot of fun activities!

Thank you to the DORA Van for coming by to play some fun water games with our campers!

Mrs B. also made campfire donuts with every group this week. They enjoyed the tasty treat and learning how to use a dutch oven over the fire.

We also got a little messy for a choice activity… with a bag of ice, milk and a few other ingredients, they learned how to make their very own ice cream! Thank you Ms Hallie and Ms Grace for this fun activity!

This week was full of adventure at the Harbor Highlands YMCA! We enjoyed three days of swimming, celebrated five new kiddos passing their swim tests, and cheered on four kids as they reached the top of the climbing wall—plus so much more fun! We love the Y!

Week 8 at North Star Day Camp brought plenty of time outdoors, creative projects, and activities with friends!

Campers explored the woods, played Gaga Ball, made turmeric sun prints, built stick rafts, and got creative with playdough and tin foil. They also headed to the Downtown YMCA for rock climbing and swimming.

Water Day and Wheels Day gave campers more ways to stay active, from splashing in the water to riding bikes, scooters, skateboards, and roller skates!

Another week of summer at the Y, with opportunities to try something new, spend time with friends, and enjoy the outdoors. We’re looking forward to making the most of the weeks ahead!

Week 8 at EWC Day Camp was a busy one!

This week we had the NorthShore Rugby team come and teach our oldest campers how to play! We also had the Valkyries Girls Lacrosse team and the Stealth Boys Lacrosse team come and teach all the campers! They all absolutely loved learning these new sports.

The campers also had the chance to learn how to embroider and make their own designs, which was a huge hit.

Onto week 9!
