DuFTA Trail Lovers!

We have added event pages for several Trail Work Days in the coming month and into July. We will be working with some other groups such as the S*TA and Duluth Climbers Coalition to help maintain some of our favorite trails around town.

No experience or equipment is necessary, just check out the event pages for more information and to register. Trail work days are a great way to learn more about trail conservation and to meet others who are as passionate about our local trails as you are. Check out the event pages for more details and we will see you out there!

National Trails Day is just 1 week away!
Join Duluth Foot Trails Alliance, DXC and the on National Trails Day, June 6th, as we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Superior Hiking Trail!

Location: We'll meet at the Hartley Nature Center Trailhead at 10:30 am and hike towards Martin Road.

After Party: After the hike, join us and the S*T at Ursa Minor Brewing, where one of the FOUR Superior Hiking Trail birthday parties will be happening, from 4 PM to 7 PM on Saturday, June 6th. No sign-up necessary — there will be S*T-themed sweet treats and free drink tokens (as supplies last), more giveaways, and the opportunity to purchase limited-edition 40th Anniversary S*T merchandise. Most importantly, it is an opportunity to hang out with fellow S*T lovers. Special guest appearances by some S*T legends too.

A huge thank you to the Duluth Area Outdoor Alliance (DAOA) for partnering with us to bring the 2026 National Outdoor Recreation Conference to Duluth, MN!

DAOA has been inspiring collaboration and championing outdoor recreation in the region since 2010 and we can’t wait to showcase Duluth as the backdrop for NORC 2026.

One last reminder of the Duluth Foot Trails Alliance Annual Meeting TONIGHT, at 6:30 pm, in the Yurt at Hartley Nature Center.

We'll be reviewing our accomplishments from the past year, what we have planned for 2026, voting on board members, and most importantly, listening to YOU about what we can do to make sure Duluth's foot trails are "...sustainably maintained, accessible, welcoming and serve a vibrant, inclusive, diverse trail community." We'd love to see you there!!

Hartley Nature Center is at 3001 Woodland Ave, Duluth, MN 55803. To get to the Hartley Yurt, see the map below. We recommend parking in the first parking lot along Hartley Road, to the north of the nature center (marked "HNC" on the map) and following the trail highlighted in yellow below. We'll have signs up as well. Light refreshments will be provided!

Vernal pools are incredible, and this trail has an abundance of them. We hope you can join us!

Join Parks & Recreation and the Duluth Foot Trails Alliance for a Spring Phenology hike along the Morningside Trail. There are beautiful vernal ponds along this trail that will provide us with the science learning portion of this hike. This hike is free and for those ages 7 and up.

Thursday, May 14 from 5:30-7 p.m.
