📢Calling all homeschool families!

There's still time to sign your student up for STARBASE MN Duluth’s Homeschool Week, happening September 14–18 and 21–25 , 2026 from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM daily—and we still have openings!

Our five-day Homeschool Week is all about giving current or soon-to-be 5th graders a chance to dive into 25 hours of hands-on STEM fun. From building and experimenting to tackling real-world challenges, students get to explore science, technology, engineering, and math in ways that spark curiosity, boost confidence, and connect back to what they’re learning in school.

After a two-week summer break, our team is back in action and hard at work getting everything ready for another exciting school year! We’re planning lessons, prepping materials, organizing classrooms, and getting ready to welcome our next group of students.

✨ Throwback Thursday! ✨

From our first summer camp in 2018 to now, a lot has changed at STARBASE. Our technology has evolved, our classrooms have grown, and we've continued finding new ways to inspire the next generation through hands-on STEM experiences.

While the tools may look different today, one thing hasn't changed: our mission. We're still here to spark curiosity, build confidence, and help students discover what's possible through STEM.

We're grateful for every student, educator, partner, volunteer, and supporter who has been part of the journey. Here's to how far we've come—and to all that's still ahead! 🚀🔬

🌠 Keep an eye on the night sky—the Perseid Meteor Shower is almost here!

Each August, Earth passes through a trail of dust and debris left behind by Comet Swift-Tuttle. When those tiny particles, many no larger than a grain of sand, enter Earth's atmosphere at nearly 37 miles per second, they burn up and create the brilliant streaks of light we call "shooting stars." The Perseids are one of the year's most active meteor showers and are even known for producing especially bright meteors called fireballs.

Viewing from Duluth? Here are a few tips for the best experience:
✨ Head away from city lights if you can—the North Shore, rural areas outside Duluth, or any location with an open view of the sky will provide darker skies.
🌌 Give your eyes 20–30 minutes to adjust to the darkness (skip the phone screen if possible!).
🪑 Bring a blanket or lawn chair and look up after midnight through the hours before dawn, when meteor activity is at its highest.

Whether you catch one meteor or dozens, it's a great reminder that there's always something incredible happening above us. Happy stargazing! 🌟

✈️ Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming a fellow STARBASE team from Mississippi to Duluth! 🌲

One of the best parts of STARBASE is the opportunity to connect with passionate educators from across the country. We loved sharing ideas, showcasing our program, and learning from one another. 🤝✨

Thank you for making the trip north! We hope you enjoyed your time in Duluth, made it home safely, and left with plenty of inspiration. We can't wait until our paths cross again! ❤️

And just like that... summer camp is in the books. 💙☀️

What an incredible 5 weeks it has been! We loved spending our summer with students entering grades 4–8, watching them challenge themselves, build new skills, and have a whole lot of fun along the way.

Here's a look back at some of our favorite moments this summer. Thank you to all of our campers and families for making it one to remember!

Now it's time for our instructors to enjoy a well-deserved summer break before we jump into preparations for another exciting school year. We can't wait to see what this next season brings. 🚀
