Six years ago, Catalyst Coalition was born out of a mission to address 3rd-grade reading level literacy. Since then, we have developed proprietary online software that matches at-risk students with a 1-on-1 online reading program—where they not only read books but also build friendships.

Today, I had the privilege of visiting Duluth Middle School and meeting the new principal, Dr. Jimmie McKinley, Ms. Elfy Horne (Parent Instructional Coordinator), and the school librarian.

Given the school’s diverse student population, they requested more books that represent their students. I was honored to present two books, "Finding Papa" and "Words Between Us", by local Asian American author Ms. Angela Pham Krans (https://www.angelakrans.com/) to add to the Duluth Middle School library collection.

A special thank you to Ms. Angela, Ms. Elfy, and Dr. McKinley for investing in our students and community!
