Surprise!! We're back!!

We know we have been MIA for awhile, but our permits are finally almost completed. We really think we are getting super close to being able to hit the ground running here at The Bailey Builds Collective once again 🤞🤞🤞

It has been MONTHS of waiting so we had to shift gears a bit which meant the crickets were chirping on this account, but there is going to be A LOT going on very soon!

We are going to say it because we are OPTIMISTS, but hopefully you will be able to come check out The Bailey Builds Collective and everything it will have to offer THIS FALL 🤞🤩🤞

Collective Update Time!!

Renovation has come to a bit of a slow down as we haven't been able to secure the permits we need to continue. We are bummed about this, but it has been a blessing in disguise because....WE GOT INTO the Minnesota State Fair ! This means we need to be working super hard in the workshop creating art so we have enough for our art shows and now the fair as well! We are super blessed and excited for this opportunity!

As for the store we decided to make lemonade out of lemons and we expanded our current store into the ! It looks so great and we were finally able to get all of the merchandise out that we had originally bought for The Collective! You can come check it all out Bailey Builds Tuesdays-Saturdays from 10-5 for the time being 😊

We were lucky enough to have Brian Olson come do some mural work for us on The Collective. If you've been around Duluth I'm sure you've seen some of his INCREDIBLE work! If not, we highly recommend you check it out. You can find him on Facebook at Brian Olson Studio.

This mural gave the building the extra little something it needed and we are in love!

We painted the exterior of the building in ONE WEEK! That is 9,000 plus square feet guys! There was 9 of us working on it so 1,000 feet per person!

Finding things in the ceilings makes demo a whole lot more fun! Isaac was working on this ceiling when he found a ton of cool trinkets tucked way in the back. His personal favorite item he found was this newspaper. It is still in super great condition. It has an ad for a 1931 Automatic Washer and $10 dresses!

We found so many more items that we will be sharing very soon!

Taking a break from posting about Reno (although we promise it’s still in full swing) to post about something we found that we didn’t expect to find when this building became ours...toe tags!

When we first started digging around we found SO many interesting things, including a large bin of toe tags. There’s got to be 200+ all with a name and date on them!

We will definitely keep sharing what we find as we continue to demo and reno our new space!

On Monday we decided the weather in Duluth was going to be perfect to get the exterior of the building done this week....so we made it happen! We started by washing and repairing the old brick. Then we had to mask off all 29 of the windows and prime the brick. Then FINALLY we got to paint! Everyone had so many great suggestions on what to do, we settled on a dark charcoal gray for the bottom and a creamy heirloom white for the top. We absolutely love how it is turning out so far. It has been all hands on deck...even the shop dogs wanted in on the fun! We hope you enjoy their paintings!

Day 1 of the EXTERIOR REMODEL!

This has been a project we've been waiting to start for SO long and today was finally the day. We started by taking down the ugly green awnings. It already looks so different out there!

We also got to test paint colors! Check out our story to vote what color you like better, or let us know in the comments if you have any other suggestions!
