To all families, loved ones, and friends of those impacted by the Missouri Department of Corrections:

Please show up and stand with us at the Jefferson City Capitol for the meeting addressing Centurion Health Care staffing issues before the Corrections & Public Institutions Committee.

🗓️ Date: January 14, 2026

⏰ Time: 4:30 PM

📍 Location: HR 6, Missouri State Capitol – Jefferson City

Our loved ones cannot speak freely from behind the walls — we are their voices. We are the ones who see the ignored sick calls, the delayed care, the suffering that happens in silence. If we don’t speak up, it continues.

This meeting matters. Presence matters. Numbers matter. We need lawmakers to look us in the eye and hear the truth directly from the families who live with the consequences of understaffing and neglect every single day.

If you’ve ever worried about a call that didn’t come, a medical issue that wasn’t treated, or felt powerless because someone you love is incarcerated — this is where your voice belongs.

🚨 According to staff sources who spoke with Missouri Prison Reform, on Friday October 3rd, 4 Centurion employees walked out of Jefferson City Correctional Center.

According to staff sources, two nurses, the Health Services Administrator, and the Assistant Director of Nursing walked out of the facility. The two nurses eventually returned inside the facility. The HSA and ADON never returned.

We were also told that Centurion leadership was at the facility the same day to address staffing shortages.

Another death in Missouri’s Department of Corrections. An individual died at 34 years old only 11 days after arriving at Fulton Reception and Diagnostic Center. The incident raises serious concerns about the care being provided inside of correctional facilities. We cannot ignore this issue. Change is necessary.
