Hello All,
The results are in! We had another fun and successful Paddly Whack / Poker Run. Having four stops instead of the usual five, we drew two cards at the final stop for the Poker Run. Here is the breakdown for the event:
Participants - Sixty-five (65), yielding $325 in entry fees;
Poker Hands - One Hundred and Two (102), yielding $510 with a pot for the winner of $255;
Winner - Nancy Vajcovec! Congratulations, Nancy! She decided to keep only $50 of her winnings and donated the remainder, $205, back to the HPA, so we have $460 from the Poker Run!
Donations - One (1) in the amount of $50
Dues Paid - Three (3) for a total of $150
Without counting the dues collected from three individuals, the 11th Annual Paddly Whack / Poker Run saw a total profit to the HPA of $835!
Thanks to all of the stops, which were excellent: Mary & Charlie Brooks (thank you to Les, also, for letting everyone park on his beach); Kristyne & Mike Darling (thanks to the crew helping everyone portage their crafts); Drew Russell (again, thanks to the crew helping with stacking the craft onto the dock and getting everyone in and out safely); Sue & Chris Yacino (thanks to the Inflat-a-Bull for providing entertainment!).
I'm looking forward to the next events: Sunset Sounds on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at the YBH (Yacino's yard), and the return of the Hayden Pond Octoberfest and Co****le Tournament on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at the Jackie & Rich Valle residence! I hope to see you all there at both events.
The Water & Wetlands people will be performing another inspection of the pond sometime in August to determine if there has been growth over the summer that requires remedial action. If you are concerned about a particular area, please let me know about it and I will convey those concerns to the inspecting team so that they can focus on what people perceive to be problem areas. I will let everyone know the date of the inspection as soon as W&W make their August schedule and let us know.
Thanks again to everyone that was a stop and to those that worked the tables at the stops, and thanks to all of those who participated in another successful event. Watch for photos of the event on the HPA page and maybe in the Webster Times at some point in the next few weeks.
Chris
