SOS 🆘 Help us, help Sonnet! She’s wonderful!! 🐶

Her current foster home has done a wonderful job with her but they can no longer keep her and she needs a new place to stay by Monday!!

For those just tuning in, our Sonnet was a rescue from Bertie County Humane Society when the county changed their euthanasia policy and she was at major risk.

She is 2-3 years old, has been spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and was miraculously heartworm NEGATIVE! And she has been on heartworm prevention monthly!

She does need a fenced in yard with a 6 foot no climb fence. She is crate trained and needs to continue her good work with House training! She gets along with other dogs too!

Please help us find someone for her!! Foster or adopt!! Hounds are the sweetest!

🚨 FINAL PLEA FOR CHASE 🚨

Chase has until THIS FRIDAY.

By Friday, if no one steps forward to foster, adopt, or pull him through a rescue, the county has scheduled him for euthanasia.

Look into his eyes.

He doesn’t know what “Friday” means.

He doesn’t know his time is running out.

Chase is a young, handsome boy who deserves so much more than for his story to end behind chain-link fencing. He deserves to stretch out on a couch instead of a concrete floor. He deserves to wake up in a home where he’s loved instead of wondering why no one has come for him.

Right now, time is the one thing Chase doesn’t have.

❔maybe 2-3 years old and 45lbs (our best guess)
👍 did well with kids
🚫 no cats (according to person that found him he was chasing the cat … WE have not tested him with cats)

✅ seems dog friendly (did well with others thru kennels)

💙 Please foster. Please adopt.
💙 Please tag every rescue you know.
💙 Please share this post—because the person who can save his life may not have seen him yet.

One share could be the reason Chase gets a second chance.

⏳ Deadline: FRIDAY

🎥 Watch Chase’s video here:

Please don’t let Friday be the last chapter of Chase’s story. 🐾❤️

🐾 RESCUES NEEDED
If you are a rescue organization that can pull a dog, please send us a PRIVATE MESSAGE.
✅ No pull fees for approved rescues

🏡 FOSTERING SAVES LIVES!
Interested in fostering? Send us a message with your location. We’ll help you connect with a rescue to apply through. Rescues provide:
✔️ Food
✔️ Medical care
✔️ Supplies

Fostering helps us learn what each dog needs and is also a great way to see if a dog is the right fit before adopting.

❤️ ADOPTING
Approved homes only. $150 adoption fee. Requirements:
• Adoption application
• Vet & Personal references
• Possible home visit

We recommend meet-and-greets with your family and current dogs.
❗ Dogs must live indoors
❗ Some may require a fenced yard

All animals are up to date on age-appropriate veterinary care as funding allows. Adult dogs are spayed/neutered before adoption. Puppies who are too young to be spayed/neutered will be adopted with a spay/neuter agreement, and the procedure will be required once they are old enough. Any dogs who are heartworm positive are on slow-kill prevention but will likely need fast-kill treatment.

SUFFOLK ANIMAL CONTROL ADVISES ANIMAL TRAPPING BAN IN EFFECT DUE TO HEAT

SUFFOLK, VA (July 11, 2026) Effective immediately, Suffolk Animal Control advises that due to the high temperatures our area is currently experiencing, trapping of all animals in the City of Suffolk should be suspended immediately.

The danger of heatstroke is higher for animals in confined spaces. They can quickly overheat and become dehydrated or have a heatstroke which can be fatal.
