She stands where the path splits, gravel under her feet, wind moving through the tall grass.
The mind counts the roads.

It weighs each one. It plans the outcomes. It holds on tight, trying to choose right.

Yet every road she counts folds into a single choice.

Love or fear.

The Holy Spirit or the ego.

A hundred decisions were only ever this one.

When that one is given over, the rest take care of themselves. The next step simply appears. Peace was already here, resting beneath all the weighing.

This is what music offers.

Rhythm loosens the grip of evaluation. Melody carries the mind past the fork and into rest, where there is nothing left to figure out.

The mind does this with what it has learned. What things mean. Who I am. How to respond. It holds these lessons up like a lamp and calls it seeing.

That is what this song is about.

"Everything that I have taught myself
has obscured what I can be."

The past cannot guide me now, and it was never asked to. When I say "I do not know," the grip simply opens. Each dark lesson is given to the Holy Spirit. He accepts it because I do not want it, and gives back the bright lesson in its place.

Nothing needs to be figured out. Peace was already here, waiting for room.

A woman spent the morning searching for a quiet place to find peace.

She lit a candle, closed her eyes, and tried to quiet her mind. But every few moments, she wondered if she was doing it right.

At last, she let go of the effort and went for a walk.

As she walked, a melody came to mind. For a moment, she stopped trying. She simply listened.

And there it was. The stillness she had been searching for had never been missing.

The mind often turns peace into something to achieve. It schedules it, measures it, and waits for proof that it has arrived.

But peace doesn't need to be scheduled. It is recognized when we stop trying to make it happen.

Sometimes it finds us on a quiet walk, while listening to a melody, or in the middle of an ordinary day.

This is the gentle invitation of music. Rhythm softens the mind's grip, and melody carries us beyond the need to evaluate everything and into rest.

She had come in carrying a twelve year old grudge against her sister. Arms loose, eyes closed, the body moving without being told how.

The mind grips a grievance like evidence. It replays, it defends, it holds the case open as if something real depended on the verdict.

Nothing did.

The rhythm doesn't argue with the story. It simply carries us beyond it, and the mind opens to a new perception.

What remains when the defending stops was never lost. It was only covered over.

She left without it.

This is why the music is here. It is offered as practice. Beats loosen what the mind clenches. Melody carries us past evaluation into rest, where Love is remembered instead of reasoned.
