Clarke University Dance Marathon

Clarke University Dance Marathon CUDM supports the children and families being treated at the University of Iowa Children's Hospital. We dance for the kiddos! FTK!

CU Miracle Network Dance Marathon is a student-run organization. It consists of year-long fundraising by its participants in hopes to provide care and support to children being treated at the University of Iowa Children's Hospital. The money that we raise goes directly to the families of our local Children's Miracle Network Hospital. The donations help to fund things such as education, research, e

quipment, and other areas of hospital need. This helps to improve the quality of life for the children, and it also provides opportunity for future research and treatments of illness. This year, Dance Marathon will be held on April 2, 2016 at Clarke University. During the event, dancers will be on their feet for 10 hours to benefit children fighting disease and to celebrate the lives of those who have won their battles. The mission of Clarke University Miracle Network Dance Marathon is to raise awareness for pediatric illness. We hope to raise funds in order to provide our miracle families with adequate care, equipment, and research in hopes of a brighter and healthier future. We have a vision to one day find a cure for cancer and other pediatric illness, so that all children can live to see more birthdays. Our miracle families either have been or are currently being treated at the University of Iowa Children's Hospital in Iowa City. Our students are inspired to join the fight with these families as we witness the strength they demonstrate, and the endurance they hold on to through their life changing journeys. Our dancers are dedicated to serving these children and to spreading awareness of this cause that has affected so many. We dance with the kids, by the kids, and for the kids!

Hi, Clarke Community! We are officially ONE day away from the 2021 Dance Marathon event, and we wanted to share some information for you:

What is Dance Marathon?

Dance Marathon is a student-run organization that fundraises year-round to provide care and support for children and families undergoing treatment at the University of Iowa Children's Hospital in Iowa City. All money raised throughout the year goes directly to the families and children at the hospital! The money also provides the hospital with funding to support various education, research, equipment, and other areas the hospital needs support or improvements.

Why do We Dance?

Simply put, We dance For the Kids! We have miracle families in which they have either been treated or are currently being treated at the University of Iowa Children's Hospital. We dance to spread awareness of pediatric illness that has affected so many. Every year we ask each dancer why they dance, and a few examples are:

*for more proms!
*for more graduations!
*for more hugs!
*for those who can't!
*FOR THE KIDS!

What are we doing at our big event due to COVID?

This year, we are holding a hybrid event! We will have the event half online and half in-person. The online portion will be from 2–5:15 p.m., and the in-person portion will be from 6–9 p.m.

At 5:30 p.m., we are holding a "Walk a Mile in The Kiddo's Shoes!" We ask that you put on your favorite Dance Marathon shirt or a pink or orange shirt and walk a mile! After walking your mile, we invite you to post a photo on social media tagging Clarke University Dance Marathon and using the hashtag !

Here are a few important dates THIS WEEK, please mark your calendars!

WEDNESDAY the 17th: ALL DANCER MEETING! If you are a registered dancer or still need to register, attend this meeting and learn more about what we are up to and how the big event planning is going!!

FRIDAY the 19th: PANERA NIGHT! Go to Panera here in Dubuque between 4-8PM and grab your go to meal! Bring the flyer in store or use the code ‘PNFUND’ if ordering online!
