We encourage others to do the same, while honoring the compassionate life Jackson led. Jackson was born December 8, 2005 in Dubuque, the first child of Robert and Angie (Bott) Hohmann. He was in the third grade at Carver Elementary School, and was featured in the Dubuque Community School District's "Kid President" video. Jackson was in Boy Scouts, and was a member of the Dubuque Soccer Club. He wa
s a member of St. Raphael Cathedral. Jackson was a social butterfly who knew everyone, and made friends wherever he went. He loved expressing his creativity with Legos. He would spend hours building things and was proud to show everyone that what he had built was better than the picture on the box. Jackson had a passion for soccer. He loved the Dubuque Soccer Club Developmental Program and with his drive and determination he joined the Dubuque Soccer Club Youth Academy. He loved his teammates and coaches. "Little Jack" was always looking forward to the next soccer practice and tournament. Jackson had a keen intelligence, and had thoughtful responses well beyond his years. Jackson was a leader and caretaker for his three younger sisters, and he was a great big brother to them. He had a bright personality that could light up a room, an infectious smile, and eyes that would melt your heart. He was a witty, charming, sensitive, sharing, and caring child who was loved by all those whose lives he touched. Jackson Hohmann died very suddenly and unexpectedly on Sunday, November 16th 2014 as a result of an undiagnosed congenital malformation of his intestines. His family and friends have established the Live Like Jack 501(c)(3) charitable organization to honor Jackson's spirit and the the kind and giving attitude Jackson exemplified. Live Like Jack will give back to the community in ways such as Jackson"s Thanksgiving blessing bags. These bags contain everything needed for a family of 6 to prepare and enjoy a holiday meal together. one the past years we have provided over 250 meal to people in need. Live Like Jack performs random acts of kindness all over. We also partner with Resources Unite in the resource and volunteer center by following up with all clients after the intake process in order to strengthen relationships and to further spread kindness, In addition, we also provide all of the bedding an pillows for the RU 40 winks program that ensures no child sleeps on the floor. Live Like Jack also sponsors children and families each Christmas along with providing donations to shelters within our community. Jackson forever continue to be his mom and dad's "Favorite Boy In The Whole Wide World"
