Reboot Dubuque

Reboot Dubuque We're a small charity project. We refurbish old computers and give them to people in need. In 2020, Chris was laid off from work due to the Covid.

He moved back home to Dubuque. His mother, Barbara, told him about a news story she’d heard about a man building computers from donated parts for people in need. Since Chris had some experience in building computers, she suggested he start a similar project. So Reboot was born. We, at Reboot, take donations in the form of computers and parts that are old, slow, or obsolete. First, we clean, repair

, and possibly reconfigure them. Then we add a faster, Linux-based operating system called Ubuntu. It’s completely free and runs faster than Windows on older machines. Right now, Reboot is a tiny, family project, run out of our home here in Dubuque during this awful pandemic. So far, we’ve been successful in using our neighbors’ trash to help people who need it. Thank you for helping us help others.
