Our Education & Empowerment Manager, Janay, recently attended a roundtable in San Leandro, where she connected with Mayor Juan Gonzalez about expanding awareness and education around human trafficking in the city. She also extended an invitation to our Human Trafficking 101 presentation at Zenti Bistro on September 25th at 10 AM.

AB 1766 is a major step forward for prevention in California’s education system. It passed the Senate unanimously and is now one step closer to the Governor’s desk! From K-12 prevention education to equipping educators with the tools to recognize and respond to exploitation, this bill puts prevention and safety practices at the forefront. Thank you to Assemblymember Maggy Krell for championing this legislation, and to all of our partners who have contributed their survivor expertise to this bill. 💙

When we head out for outreach, we make sure to have dignity kits on hand - these small bags are filled with wipes, shampoo, body wash, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, water and snack. They're often a reminder of love and care that provide many we meet with comfort.
