Three Stunning Full Moons Will Light Up Spring! ✨
Spring 2026 brings a special lunar lineup with three full moons appearing during the season, including a rare Blue Moon.

🌷 April 01, The Pink Moon
It does not truly turn pink; instead, it may appear golden or orange when near the horizon because of atmospheric scattering.

🌺 May 01, The Flower Moon
Usually appears as a bright white or yellow disk. In 2026, it is a Micromoon, looking slightly smaller since it is near its farthest point from Earth.

🔹 May 31, The Blue Moon
It will look like a normal full moon. True blue moons only happen because of rare particles in the air, such as from volcanic eruptions or massive wildfires.

Franklin Davis, 88 Franklin R. Davis, age 88, passed away peacefully last Sunday, December 28, 2025. He was born June 27, 1937 and was a lifelong resident of the Little Creek Section of Bland County, Virginia.

Lifelong resident of Little Creek passed away today. We will all miss him.

James Robert “JR” Davis age 82, of Little Creek Community, passed away on December 11, 2025. He was born in Little Creek on August 25, 1943 to the late Gifford Lafayette and Beatrice Beulah Kitts Davis. JR was a lifelong farmer and helped his community any way he could he had served by opening and closing over 101 graves for family friends and neighbor in Little Creek. He was preceded in death by his six siblings, Glorina Sarver, Della Reynolds, David Davis, Naomi Brunk, Peggy Martin and Sue Morris.

Survivors include his wife of over 59 years, Johnnie Kate Valentine Davis of Little Creek; daughter, Freda Harmon of Little Creek; son, Tim Davis of Little Creek; four grandchildren, Jessica Davis, Ashley Davis, Brittany Harmon and Tanner Davis; nine grandchildren, Braylin Davis, Liam Harmon, Chase Hetherington, Cayden Davis, Creed Davis, Kinley Fisher, Kylie Hetherington, Lukas Harmon and Ryker Davis; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Sam Corder of Pulaski; several nieces and nephews; special brother-in-law, Ed Morris of Charlottesville; special friend, Billy Hamblin of Spur Branch.

Funeral service will be held 7 P.M. on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at the Grubb Funeral Home with Pastor Linda Hale officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Graveside service will be held Sunday at 2 P.M. at the Hidden Valley #2 Cemetery in Little Creek.
