I would like to thank everyone for participating in Christmas for Your Insides for the last 8 holiday seasons. Extra special thanks to Alissia Jay for taking over last year and doing a fantastic job.

Everything in life has a beginning and an ending. At this point, I think it's time to close this chapter.

Wishing you a joyous holiday season.

Day 25:
"If nature has made you a giver, your hands are born open, and so is your heart. And though there may be times when your hands are empty, your heart is always full, and you can give things out of that."
Frances Hodgson Burnett
Merry Christmas friends!

Day 22: I've always wondered how you become a Salvation Army Bell ringer. Well, here is the answer. It's quit simple! Fill out the attached form and voila, you're a bell ringer! After reading about all the ways that money pours back into the community I'm thinking about giving it a try next year. It's pretty neat when you think about it, you get to meet new people in the community and help others!

Wufoo is a web form builder that helps anyone create beautiful forms, surveys and invitations without writing a single line of code.

Day 21: By this time you're probably busy baking for the big day. Why not bake a little extra. Maybe a couple extra pies, another dozen cookies. Just bake a little extra of whatever you're already baking and drop it off at your local fire or police department. Sometimes it's easy to forget that while we are safe and warm on Christmas day there are men and women in uniform ensuring that! Why not give them a sweet treat!

Day 20: Tis the season for travel. Unfortunately it also can increase the number of car accidents. Along with the every day need for blood the holidays heighten the need. Depending on your blood type, one donation that takes less than 30 minutes in most cases can save up to 17 lives. If one of those 17 people saved was your loved one you'd be very thankful. Consider donating today and giving the gift of life.

The Central Ohio Blood Services Region of the American Red Cross serves 27 counties in central Ohio, headquartered in Columbus.  For more click here.

We are lucky enough to have an internationally known Zoo. Our Zoo is more than a zoo, they are dedicated conservation and education. Tis the season to donate, why not consider the Columbus Zoo?

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and our affiliates are pleased to support other non-profit organizations who share our values.   Each year we receive numerous requests for ticket donations. Though we would love to fill all requests we receive, we are unable to do so.   In order for your request to be…

Day 18: This year you may be considering a new pet. Puppies are always adorable, cute, gifts. They are also a lot of work to train. If you are looking for a new loyal friend why not look at adopting a senior dog or cat. Sure they won't live for another 10 years, but you can give them the gift of happiness in their golden years and you get the gift of a great dog who is already trained and ready for all your love!

Have you recently adopted a senior dog? Read some information on housing, diet and making your new old dog comfortable.

Day 15: Why not "help thy neighbor" ? Know of someone in your neighborhood who recently lost a loved one? Or may just not have family around to celebrate the season. Why not have them over for a Christmas eve dinner and share the cheer your family has to offer. I'm sure it will mean a lot to them and bring some Christmas cheer where there might not have been any.

Day 13: Many children go year round in need of many things. One of the biggest is someone to look up to. Someone to tutor them or just lend an ear to listen. Big Brothers Big Sisters is a great way to give something back to your community and have a huge impact! Consider donating some time to this organization, maybe it's the only gift a child is looking for.

Day 11: While the gift of your time is one of the greatest gifts you can give, many people feel they are short on time during the holidays. So why not give bake goods. Nothing says Merry Christmas like wonderful homemade baked goods. Why not make a few extra and drop them at a local nursing home for those that may not be able to make their own anymore! Simply Google to find local homes and call ahead to make sure they accept them!

Day 8: Teach a child to read!
Sitting around the Christmas tree reading the story of Jesus’ birth with your family may be a favorite holiday tradition. But many children worldwide can’t read since they don’t have the opportunity to attend school. Samaritan’s Purse works with churches, orphanages, and other ministries to equip Christians to teach children to read, write, and, most importantly, read the Word of God for themselves. For $14, you can provide school supplies or a month of school tuition.
Donate or read more with the link below!

Literacy is still essential for those who yearn to escape poverty. Yet all too often, poverty-stricken children never learn to read and write because they cannot afford to attend school. Your $15 gift can provide supplies or a month’s tuition for a child who is eager to learn.
