SCAM ALERT: The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is issuing a warning to about a new scam targeting their mailboxes. https://www.wmbfnews.com/2026/07/14/va-warns-veterans-postcard-scam-promising-extra-monthly-benefits/

The VA said there is a postcard circulating that promises extra monthly benefits, but it’s actually a scam designed to steal your personal information and money.

The postcard claims veterans or their spouses can qualify for up to $185 added to their check a month through a “Veteran Savings Program”. The postcard references real benefit programs, including CHAMPVA and TRICARE for Life, to appear legitimate.

If you call the number printed on the postcard, the person on the line may say they are from the VA and thank you for your service in hopes of gaining your trust.

However, after all of the flattery, the scammer will start asking for personal information, including your Social Security number and bank account details, in an attempt to steal your identity and money.

The VA advises veterans not to call the number on the postcard and not to share sensitive information over the phone.

Also, do not fall for urgent requests to act fast to secure your benefits. High-pressure tactics are a major red flag that a scammer is on the other line.

Anyone with questions about their benefits should call the number listed directly on the VA’s official website. https://www.va.gov/

NON RIDERS TAKE NOTE 🇺🇸🏍️

Riders already know this, but the general public may not be aware.

If you’ve never been part of a benefit ride with groups like CVMA GA 25-6 / Ramblers, you should know this:

Bikers PAY to ride.
Something they could easily do for free.

But they choose to show up and give back. Ride fees can be anywhere from $10 to $20 to $30 per person, sometimes more depending on the cause.

Not only do they pay to ride, they also show up for the extras.

Raffles. 50/50. Silent auctions. Donations. Toy runs.

They dig deep to support whatever mission is behind that ride.

When you see a group ride pass by, they are more than likely riding for something bigger than themselves.

A veteran.
A family.
A child.
A cause that matters.

Groups like the Ramblers ride for charity, for their community, and for people who need it most.

So instead of getting upset because traffic slowed down or you were delayed for a few minutes, please remember this:

They are some of the most generous people you will ever come across.

Give them space.
Give them your patience.
That short delay might be part of something that truly changes someone’s life.

Sometimes we all need a little reminder.

So when you see them, wave, smile, and let them ride.

Because they are out there doing something good for someone you may know… or a cause that truly matters. 🇺🇸

Greetings friends and supporters of Warriors Ranch:

This is one of the hardest messages I’ve ever had to write. After a great deal of prayer and reflection, I need to share that Warriors Wellness & Recovery Ranch will be closing effective May 13, 2026.

As many of you know, this season of life has become incredibly heavy. I am caring for my elderly parent, and now with my daughter Doryn officially being placed on the lung transplant list as of March 31, 2026 my time, energy, and heart must be fully devoted to my family and walking alongside her through this critical journey.

Warriors Ranch has always been so much more than a place—it’s been a mission, a calling, and a community built on love, healing, and service to our veterans. That mission exists because of each of you. I am beyond grateful for the countless hours, prayers, hard work, and unwavering support you’ve poured into this vision over the years.

Please know this decision was not made lightly. It comes with a very heavy heart. But I also trust that stepping back in this season is what is needed right now as we await the call for my daughter to have a bilateral lung transplant.

We absolutely plan to honor the spirit of Warriors Ranch by donating a significant portion of the proceeds to some veteran nonprofits as a means of continuing the impact you all helped create.

Most importantly, I ask for your continued prayers—for Doryn, for our family, and for strength and peace in the days ahead.

I love you all deeply and thank you for standing with us through every chapter. 🙏

With all my love and gratitude,
Marla
