As our community continues to rebound from Hurricane Helene, Dublin City Schools will be CLOSED for all students tomorrow, Tuesday, October 1st. Staff, please refer to an email from your principal for more information.

While our schools will be closed, Dublin High School’s gym will be open on Tuesday from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM for students, staff, and community members to recharge their devices and enjoy the air conditioning. Please bring the necessary charging cables with you.

Additionally, our Dublin City Schools Nutrition staff will be providing FREE HOT LUNCHES for all children ages 18 and under tomorrow, Tuesday, October 1st. Meals will be available from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, while supplies last, at Dublin High School, Hillcrest Elementary School, and Susie Dasher Elementary School. Students can either enjoy their delicious meal inside the school’s cafeteria or pick up to-go meals from the designated car rider area. If children are not present, families may take home one meal per car. Please note, per USDA guidelines, only one meal per child will be provided.

At this time, we anticipate that schools will reopen on Wednesday, October 2nd. However, should there be any further changes or delays, they will be communicated through ParentSquare, the Dublin City Schools’ website, and district social media channels. We will also share updates with local media partners.

NATIONAL GUARD PODS

Yesterday, as different sources released varying information, we had citizens eager to help distribute information that wasn’t accurate. We are so thankful for a supportive community that is passionate to offer information and aid; however, if it doesn’t come from this page, please don’t consider it confirmed information!

WHAT WE KNOW:
-National Guard already has POD boots on the ground, and they have staged.
-We expect relief commodities to arrive today.
-We are awaiting confirmation of arrival as we partner very closely with our guard and have our emergency management personnel on National Guard POD sites to help coordinate.
-We will post as soon as we have all necessary parts in place for our PODS to be open to the public for relief supplies.
-PODS AT ELMS ARE NOT OPENING AT 7 AM, CONTRARY TO COMMUNITY INFORMATION.

We will update our community as soon as we can and are working diligently to begin offering this form of relief!

24/7 OXYGEN DEPENDENT SHELTER

First Baptist Church Family Center is open to receive oxygen dependent citizens that need electricity for their oxygen concentrators.

ADDRESS:
405 Bellevue Avenue, Dublin, GA 31021
Building next to the Firestone building

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
-This is a 24/7 oxygen shelter for citizens with oxygen needs. This is not a public shelter for full community use.
-Each person should have their own oxygen equipment. This site is only for access to electricity.
-There will be 24/7 volunteers and police presence.
-This is NOT a medical shelter. If citizens need to bring medicines, they should bring them; however, they will NOT be managed by volunteers.
-Nurses will not be on site.
-Each citizen utilizing this oxygen shelter should NOT bring family UNLESS they need constant assistance. If so, ONE family member is permitted and must be an adult.
-This shelter has a capacity. We will have to let citizens know when we are at capacity; however, we will try our hardest to make room.

FREE HAMBURGER PLATE MEAL TOMORROW IN CEDAR GROVE

Community volunteers have partnered to offer a hot hamburger plate meal tomorrow, October 1st, at 12:00 PM in the community of Cedar Grove.

HERE ARE THE DETAILS:
-Tuesday, October 1st at 12:00 PM
-At the Cedar Grove Market where Hwy 441 S and Hwy 46 meet
-We will be providing hamburgers, condiments, and water WHILE SUPPLIES LAST!

We hope this hot meal helps to provide relief in a small way!

Say “hello” to Tim Chatman, the CEO of Transform Dublin!

Transform Dublin grew from an idea created by Tim Chatman, former City of Dublin Police Chief. In August 2014, Chief Chatman launched the Transformer Initiative in Dublin/Laurens County, and as they say, “the rest is history!”

Tim Chatman is also the Senior Pastor at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, is currently pursuing his Masters in Church Administration, and is the CEO of Chatman & Associates Polygraph Services.

He’s married to the Elect Lady Rev. Verlinda Chatman, and he has four children and is a proud grandfather.
