In a nutshell, I'm bored. And I want to do my part to help out the community.
I like to fix bikes as a hobby and the bike stores around me don't know what they're doing half the time and charge a heinous price.
Covid has everyone indoors but biking is still a great way to keep in shape during these times. So, $20 flat rate per bike (or a hot meal) to fix/professionally tune your bike. Same day turn around 75% of the time (no promises; depends on the damage), typical session ranges 20 minutes to 2 hours. I haven't exceeded 1hr 30 mins yet, so bring your worst!
My hours are 5:30pm-10pm on weekdays and anytime on weekends (appointments pending; I'll let you know)
ALL profits go to Speak for the Unspoken (or your choice if you choose).
Parts aren't included for upgrades/replacements, but I can recommend a part and charge the same price it costs (none of that service fee crap; you get to see the receipt). If it's something minor, I'll do it for free if you bring it to me. I can virtually diagnose as well and walk you through the steps to fix it.
I am 100% mobile with my workstation, so if transporting your bike is a problem, I can travel to you (if it's not too far that is, but I will need to charge for gas depending on distance).
I do it all:
- tire alignment/spoke fixes (bent wheels are gross)
- derailleur adjustment and alignment (does the chain grind on your gears?)
- brake checks and adjustments (things sound squeaky or it's hard to pedal?)
- bike fitting (mostly road bikes, but I dabble in mountain/hybrid)
- chain replacement/tuning (no one likes a rusty chain)
- sleeve replacement (delays in shifting or poor breaking/shifting)
- gear indexing (for when that chain rattles during shifts); for the most part, this is a free service
- tire pressure checks/replacement/fitting (make sure you don't have flats)
- grip taping or handle replacement (mostly road bikes here, but I do bend adjustments on site)
- and more, waaaaaayyyyyy more
Please feel free to DM me if you're interested. Get out there and bike!
Also, if I see you on the road and I overtake you, you are required (by my law) to come in for a free tune-up.
I pride myself on repairing your bike at the lowest cost. Because of this, I try to get used parts over new (do NOT ask me about this unless you want to hear my conspiracy rant on bikes being a giant money laundering scheme). I will let you know what I can/cannot do, but because all bikes are different, I will need a day or two to do research.
