Cancer Marketing & Communications Association

Cancer Marketing & Communications Association The Public Affairs and Marketing Network has adopted a new name: the Cancer Marketing and Communications Association, or CMCA.

The change more accurately reflects the organization’s membership, services and future growth opportunities. The Public Affairs & Marketing Network (PAMN) is the network for communications and marketing professionals working in the oncology industry. We are a cooperative communications and marketing professional venture of academically-based, comprehensive, clinical, basic and consortium cancer ce

nters as designated by the National Cancer Institute, or member organizations of the Association of American Cancer Institutes. We host a collaborative conference annually with our colleagues from NACCDO (National Association of Cancer Center Development Officers)

Membership
Annual dues for membership in PAMN are $350. This fee allows all members of your communications, marketing and physician relations team to be PAMN members. Your membership provides access to professional development webinars, web content, affinity group opportunities, discounts on annual conference registration and more. Only members have access to these great benefits. If you have questions on how to become a member or renew your institution’s membership, please email [email protected]. In our latest , “Collaboration and Communication Are Critical to Elevating Cancer Research,” co-authors Christine Thomas, JD (The University of Kansas Cancer Center) and Meredith Rae Vehar, MPA (Huntsman Cancer Institute at The University of Utah) highlight a central theme: the cancer center community is strongest when it speaks with a unified voice.
Informed by insights from the NACCDO-Cancer Marketing & Communications Association annual conference in Toronto, the article also underscores the essential role of strategic communications and storytelling in translating cancer research into real-world impact and reinforcing the value of sustained investment in federally funded research. When communications, marketing, development, and public affairs teams work together, we strengthen trust, amplify impact, and advance shared goals across institutions.

AACI was proud to support this year's conference and appreciated the opportunity to connect with colleagues in Toronto! https://conta.cc/4u3ZjaI

We proudly join the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) in recognizing May as National Cancer Research Month to highlight the importance of lifesaving research to the millions of people around the world affected by the collection of devastating diseases we call cancer.

Thanks to spectacular advances made by cancer research, approximately 18.6 million people in the United States and millions more worldwide are living with, through, and beyond their disease.

Now more than ever, we must remember that cancer affects everyone. It knows no party lines, and neither should the progress we make against it. We invite you to partner with our organization and cancer centers, institutions, researchers, physicians, patients, survivors, and advocates to bring awareness and highlight the importance and impact of cancer research. This year’s theme is United by Cancer Research.

Sustained federal funding is crucial for researchers to plan and continue cutting-edge projects that will lead to new, better treatments and cures for various diseases, including cancer.

A recent national survey found that 83% of voters in the United States favor increasing federal funding for cancer research. Moreover, the bipartisan poll found that Americans have “high levels” of confidence that cancer researchers and the National Cancer Institute (NCI) act in the public’s best interests.

Throughout May, join AACR and the millions of Americans who support making cancer research a national priority and providing the funding researchers need to develop better treatments and cures by calling on Congress to protect the future of medical research.
