ROTARY IMPACT IN EL SALVADOR.
We had an amazing International trip to El Salvador in February...thought you might enjoy taking a peek of what we did!
From giving transistor radios to seniors and giving them blankets and new mattresses at their senior home, to painting the exterior and interior of a village school, and giving backpack and school supplies to children, our Rotarians and their family members had a life changing experience living our Rotary motto, Service Above Self!
This is Rotary at its best. Focused. Hands On. Forward.

Another great event this evening...the City of Duarte's Halloween Howl event. Our Rotary Club hosted a Pumpkin Beanbag Toss, free of charge and all the children received prizes after their three tosses. They got a bracelet glowstick and a lollipop. What fun to watch children of all ages trying to get the bag in the large wooden jack o' lantern's eyes, nose or mouth!
There was even a kissing booth ..you could kiss a precious dog 🥰

It's been a very busy first quarter, to describe what's been going on since the start of the new Rotary year in July. There's an old adage that time goes by quickly when you're having fun ... So FUN is another word to describe what's been happening in the Duarte Rotary Club To start off, we were the very first club that our new District governor Gilda Moshir visited in early July. We now tease that we were a good dress rehearsal for her with the many clubs she is visiting this year. There are 54 clubs in our district and at the time of this writing, October 31st, she has visited 39 or so clubs. We have been fortunate to induct four new members since the beginning of this Rotary year. Like any Rotary Club, we are grateful for the influx of new blood , new energy and new ideas to bring into the club.
I'm inviting you, now, to take a peek at what has been happening at our Duarte Club, " The mouse that roared", Hear us "roar"🐭🐭🐭🐭we are people of action!

The new Rotary year is up and running. We had a lovely installation event in mid June welcoming our new officers. Our slate of officers for 2025-26 are: Larry Breceda, President; Gabriela Arambul Perez, President-Elect; Executive Secretary, Basil Kruger; Secretary, John Fasana; Treasurer, Kristen Petersen, Youth Coordinators: Ray Abernathy and Richard Moreno; Community Service Projects ,Rosa Holguin; International Service Projects, Margaret Finlay; Foundation, Brian Villalobos; Social Media, Vanessa Gonzalez Selinger; and Membership, Lydia Carswell. A BIG thanks to Rosa Holguin, past president for a terrific 2024-25! CSArts Jazz Band was our entertainment for the evening...they were amazing! The best part of the evening was the induction of our newest member, Gaston Valdovinos...welcome Gaston!
